  1. How long is this taking to arrive??! Been waiting ages, still nothing by the lamppost. How heavy where you are, dogs?
  2. Wish it wasn't moving so darn slowly... though when it arrives I hope it stalls at the heaviest bit lol!!! should be here soon
  3. WOW IT'S INTENSIFYING AS IT'S APPROACHING HERE :-D :o :o :o :o :o    Reds are in the mix now!
  4. Nothing to report as yet, dogs - give it another 10-15 mins I reckon :-)
  5. Dogs - are you sure about those temps? I'm recording 0.2 falling from 1.1 a couple of hours ago...
  6. Well here are a few thoughts from me: Good that we are seeing snow further south, definitely looks promising. If you look at the 18Z, see that the PPT was forecast to be centred over Lyme Bay, now it is just E of Portland. Therefore it's 40-50 miles east. The heaviest is forecast over SW wales at 3am - shunt that 50 miles east and where is it? Cheltenham... Maybe I'm being a little optimistic... we will see..
  7. If what's currently over Exeter is expected to intensify as it heads north, I can't imagine how heavy it's going to be, and if it's snow.....!
  8. Sounds good to me :-) Promising for our area when it spreads up later in the night as well then!
  9. Thundery wintry showers, what's it doing in Exeter at the moment? Any sign of sleet/snow? DPs are -1 there according to xcweather...
  10. Could this be a 1978 repeat? Reading the snow forecasting thread at the moment!! "Another situation is when you have high thicknesses and higher 850mb temps, but a cold undercut (continental typically), here wet bulb will be several degrees below zero, so snow is more likely than rain as the cold air at the boundary layer undercuts the warm air aloft. (this was responsible for the blizzrds in the westcountry in feb 1978, thicknesses here were well above 528 and 850mb temps in the SW nearer to 0 to +1C."
  11. Wow, tomorrow could be immense. What's the chances of it being worse than Monday's event was anywhere? I will look forward to going up the 330m Cleeve Hill in some very deep snow even if it is too marginal down here!
  12. Settling quickly now because of the size of snowflakes.. already a covering.
  13. SNAP dogs :-) Wow, flakes are very big now, 4cm diameter?
  14. Turned to light wet snow now, medium size flakes getting bigger.
  15. Light sleet/rain in Cheltenham. Where abouts in Gloucestershire are you, yido?
  16. I am a bit disappointed here. Only 1-2 inches of snow. Looking on the radar I'm in the great corridor of snowlessness which extends from Herefordshire into Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire. WHY?!
  17. I'm clutching at straws here, but: Backbuilding? Any thoughts?
  18. Well... fairly good day for snow here... about 2 inches in total. Snowed on and off most of the day.
  19. Works for me... at school though so don't have sound, will listen when I get home.
  20. How much chance is there that the large area over Bath/Swindon will start heading north?
  21. So it's not all over then!!!! I'm only 20 miles West of Little Rissington! Only had 1cm so far
  22. For once I wish I lived in London!! A foot of snow in places Stupid little dusting here.
