Has the Daily Express headlined the BFTE - actually getting it right for the first time amongst three years of garbage? I bet @Jo Farrowhas been keeping score?

So I'm guessing that BFTE stands for dog biscuits From The Express?

(pretty sure the netweather rude word replacing algorithm is going to make a nonsense of this)

Make sure your snow chains are properly fitted. Years ago, I had the pleasure of watching a guy wreck the rear of his Range Rover after the drivers rear chain broke lose.

Eventually I started flashing my lights and gestured for him to pull over. Suffice to say he was fuming and blamed his wife as she had fitted them

I'll not be letting any female anywhere near my chains.

    Well, then again..

  3. We had lots of light to moderate, really wet snow yesterday but only rain today. Been watching the radar showing serious snow skirting the village for the last 24 hours while others in the Kiltie No Pants thread are being buried in the stuff. I'm almost at the point of posting in the Southern Softie thread. Still, all this rain has the place looking very, very green, which is nice enough in its own way.

Temperature 2.2deg.C up from 1.4deg.C minimum at 05:17, humidity is 91%, wind is 4 to 8mph northerly generally with a 20mph gust at 07:54, pressure is 997.0hPa rising slowly, there's been 6.6mm of rain today and 11.2mm in the last 24 hours, cloud cover is 8/8 and the dew point is at 1deg.C.

  4. I was just typing a letter of complaint to the effect that I still haven't seen my first flipping flake of this so-called snow event when I did. One teeny tiny flake. Well, not even a flake really. Just a miniscule precipitate aspiring to snowdom. I've now seen three of the little blighters and I have to say that I'm less than impressed. Even Diablo has nothing to say on the subject.

Temperature 1.7deg.C up from 1.3deg.C minimum at 05:29, humidity is 89%, wind is 3 to 6mph east-southeasterly generally with a max gust of 16mph, pressure is 995.2hPa steady, there's been 0.8mm of drizzle so far today, cloud cover is 8/8 and the dew point is at 0deg.C.

  5. I see the Met Office have included me in their yellow box for tomorrow, just, but of more immediate interest is the current temperature of 7.8 degrees C! If it gets into double figures I'm getting the speedos on, the lounger out and I'll be grabbing me some rays. Except it's overcast. Still, there'll be Vit D out there somewhere.

Temp as above up from a minimum of 2.8deg.C at midnight, humidity 96%, dead calm, pressure 1011.7hPa steady and there's been 0.8mm of rain so far today.

  6. Pretty dull and dismal day today, felt damp and uselessly cold.

Max temp was 2.8deg.C at 12:57 and min was 0.5deg.C at 05:58, current humidity 92%, wind between 0 and 8mph southwesterly, current pressure 1008.2hPa falling slowly, there's been 2.8mm of rain so far and the cloud cover has been 8/8 all day.

Tomorrow had better pull its socks up.

  7. Lovely sunny morning and the thaw setting in should get rid of the ice that's been a pain in the backside up to now. My backside mainly.

Temperature 2.6deg.C up from -4.1deg.C at midnight, humidity 93%, wind 1 to 5mph northwesterly, pressure 1009.1hPa rising slowly, there's been 0.2mm of rain today and cloud cover is 3/8.

  8. Many are cauld but few are frozen. Not sure why I'm frozen as the minimum temperature here overnight was was only just below freezing at -0.1deg.C, but the rooflights are covered in ice and the patio out back is covered in frost, as I found out when I went on my kite on the way to the bird feeders. I'm now typing whilst standing up, which is a test of my multi-tasking skills.

Temperature 3.8deg.C, humidity 85%, wind 1 to 10mph southeasterly, pressure 990.2hPa rising slowly, there's been 0.2mm of rain today and possibly a bit of sleety stuff, cloud cover is 2/8 and the dew point is at 2deg.C.

Ah yes, that well known east coast sign language gesture for "You'll have had your tea..?"

Temperature now up to 4.7deg.C and the cloud has broken to give 4/8 cover. Sleet melt has worked its way through Diablo's inners and rain for today is now recorded at 0.6mm. Pressure is shooting upwards and sits currently at 977.2hPa. Dew point is now 3deg.C.

  10. Congratulations to all you winners out there; nice photos. I'm gazing out on, well, let's be generous and say 1cm of patchy slushy type material that looks to be of nae use to man nor beast.

Temperature 1.5deg.C up from -1.8deg.C at 01:51, humidity is 94%, wind 1 to 4mph swirling all over the shop, pressure 975.1hPa rising slowly, rainfall not recorded but see above, cloud 8/8 cover and the dew point is at 1deg.C.

  11. Nothing to see here. Nothing at all. Move along please. Thank you.

Temperature 1.4deg.C up from 0.5deg.C at 01:37, humidity 96%, wind between 0 and 7mph east-southeasterly, pressure 983.1hPa steady, there's been 0.6mm of rain today and 11.8mm in the last 24 hours, cloud cover is 8/8 and the dew point is at 1deg.C.

As I sat down here Diablo flashed up the snaw symbol. Diablo he take jaffa cakes.
