Just been under a torrential storm east of Doncaster, near Thorne. Some excellent structure as it approached and then a torrential downpour of rain with lots of flooding and some bright flashes of lightning. Unfortunately was stuck inside the car for the storms passage over, but still a nice catch. I'm in Snaith now and the storms fizzled to just heavy rain.

Glad to hear that your back out and about and on the chase again!

I know I was proper impressed with her! Age 7 and did better than me LOL! She printed it off and has taken it to school to show everyone in the class.

She got a video too but you have forward to 1 minute 50 seconds odd to see it lol. And it's just a quick flash with a slight forkey bit. Not as good as the photo!

Always good to get them into it at a young age! I've taken my 9 year old son out twice now this year and he's had 2 direct hits already,he was buzzing but we did get a pretty close CG and he said he nearly crapped his panties🤣!

Must have had a lovely view! I really should try and make it out more when it is going to be stormy! That's on my way home from work 🤣

It's the best viewpoint I go to buddy, it's always my first port of call when I go out because the visuals are good for 30-40miles and I can see what direction the storms are moving and how things are developing in the channel. That gives me time to plan my move and try to get under the worst areas. I'd highly recommend you check it out if you pass nearby, I've scoped out and know many spots and this one's my go too for imports 100 percent.

  4. Evening all,a nice suprise little chase this evening. Still haven't summarized the last few nights yet but will get round to it. Nice little storm just passed over this evening here with some torrential rain and some half decent lightning. Nothing in comparison to what happened here a few nights ago but still worthy of getting out again. Good luck to anyone who is out on the chase tonight. Storms are moving NNE from here.

I was very scared getting this shot earlier. Blistering CG strikes started to rain down out of nowhere while I'm exposed on the top of the highest point in the west of the Island. Exhilarating stuff!

If only I'd been standing just a little to the left to get both of these strikes fully in frame....

  6. Bit late to the party tonight as out on a suprise chase and thought this lot was heading a little west of me!How wrong I was. Absolute scenes up at my veiwpoint tonight again at devil's dyke just north of hove! Some really decent strikes and some very loud thunder. And the icing on the cake was a huge CG that hit the road about 100yards in front of me on the A27 on my way to ditchling beacon! If I had dash cam it would have been phenomenal! I've got directly under 2 storms in less than 24 hours and only had to travel about 30miles over the 2 nights. Might even have a dig on the lottery at the weekend! Hope people who went out again tonight got lucky and the mid Sussex storm shield has been completely obliterated over the last 2 nights!
