  1. It's fair to say that we have had a fairly eventful day here in the South East and some pretty sharp boundaries between rain and snow. A complete bust for me 9 miles north of Brighton but just 25 miles away in beare Green it was 9cm deep! So I got my fix with my son who was buzzing about it! Well done to everyone who got a covering and commiserations to those who didn't! It's been great seeing everyone's posts and all the local differences around the area. And now temperatures are falling there could be a few places that could get a dusting or a top up if the band can maintain some intensity so fingers crossed for all, especially those who have had sod all today!!

To add salt to the wounds for places that missed today the snow band on some early 12z models expected to slip more North to South away weakening meaning mostly London and C Southern England to get the scraps probably missing Essex Kent and Sussex. Non Winter 20/21 please end now.

One thing we do get here though is beautiful Storm less summers...... Oh wait

Have to agree with you on that one Paul, seen lots of scenarios unfold this way over the years down here in West Sussex! Kind of knew it would rain here this morning! And as you mentioned not so many storms here either....!

Very impressive squall line just East of Brighton.

A couple of hours worth of real deluges at times and local flooding.

Winds were impressive 'straight down' gusts at times with some minor local damage.

It was pretty impressive here too sunnijim just north of Brighton earlier. Very strong straight line winds in the first line and then a second line developed not long after with some impressive wet downburst gusts. Wouldn't be surprised if we had an inch or so of rain too!
