  1. As long as Newhey, Lancashire gets rain I'll be very happy!
  2. There will always be surprises, I'm sure most places will see some snow this winter.
  3. Going to Austria? I presume you're walking or cycling to get there?!
  4. Still not seen it mentioned on the local or national weather forecast.
  5. I remember John Kettley on the weather for farmers on Sunday 11th 1987. Was a stunning forecast. Despite trawling YouTube I've never found it. Exciting times ahead.
  6. Almost like they're not allowed to mention it! And Louise Lear still seems more interested in wearing wacky outfits than giving a detailed forecast.
  7. I can remember watching the weather for farmers and growers, used to be on bbc1 on Sunday lunchtime. Always hoped that Bill Giles would have that magnetic double snowflake symbol in the palm of his hand!
  8. God bless you Matt on what must be a difficult time for you.
  9. All down to personal preferences, I just hate the cloudy gloom!
  10. Yes it was a very dull December here. Wet at times and breezy. But far worse was the dry and cloudy days, don't mind cloud but please give us some weather to go with it!
  11. It's the weather, it will do what it wants regardless of what we want. And we know what you say about Iberian heights, you tell us every day. But we are where we are. Snow here is very rare. I'd suggest stop looking at the charts for a week or so.
  12. As ever more runs are needed. Please stop flip-flopping . The Jekyll and Hyde show is wearing a bit thin.
  13. Same here, seen a bit of sun. Was incredibly mild last night too.
  14. Actually all the models seem to be showing a definite swerve away from cold weather. Whenever cold appears in the charts it simply never verifies. As others have said it never counts down to arrival, merely being pushed further away. You would have thought that with all the computing power they'd be capable of nailing something down. And where has the SSW gone?
  15. Looking at renewable energy sources I'm wondering if there is any data available to show how both solar and wind power have done this month.
  16. When I returned to Gatwick from my skiing holiday on 31st January 1987 around 10am the temperature was minus 4 Celsius. I can confirm that January 1987 was a cold month from 10th onwards.
  17. Just give me a decent August please. It's been a lousy month in recent years.
