  1. The weather is chaotic and the models are merely trying to predict what happens with all that chaos so there is bound to be differences in timings and placements of systems. Best not to get hung up on every run
  2. Have not checked other models but GFS 18z keeps the vortex over Asia for pretty much the entire run opening up for more possible height rises to our north
  3. All a bit of a fruit bowl really. Seen some peaches, pears and it's all sent everyone a bit bananas. 18z looking ok.
  4. I'm not expecting too much here tbh. If the low comes in from the Atlantic bringing in easterly winds as it pulls away then we would have to wait for any cloud associated with the system to clear away before any convection can get going. Ideally we'd want any lows to disrupt and head se into Europe without affecting the UK too much
  5. It wasn't that long ago we had sleet from -8 uppers from an easterly in the north east. I believe the air was originally sourced from the eastern med on that occasion and dew points were just slightly too warm. Air sourced from the north east should fair a bit better.
  6. Aye I can never remember sea mist in August. Went to south Shields 4pm on Sunday and was greeted with thick mist/fog. Yet only a mile inland was bright warm sunshine. All the storms yesterday seemed to miss my location and we stayed relatively bone dry
  7. Aye it's greened up loads over the past week and half/2 weeks. Before that it was very very brown in my garden. It's amazing how quick the grass greens up after a few days of rain.
  8. More heavy/torrential rain moving across the region this afternoon after quite a lovely morning. Virtually no rain through most of July. It's definitely making up for it these last couple of days
  9. Some much needed rain last night and some heavy showers currently working their way across the north east now delivering more much needed rain. Still been a very humid day
  10. We were upto 19c here about dinnertime. Felt rather pleasant with some sun poking through the cloud. Very little breeze. Quite a nice day tbh. Should be some rain/drizzle around overnight and tomorrow before a slight warm up at the weekend.
  11. Aye strange warning. Air was too dry for any meaningful convection to get going. Disappointed we never saw the heatwave out with a bang but nevermind. Could definitely do with some rain. Grass around here is all going brown
  12. Some stations only report once or twice a week so could still potentially change I suppose.
  13. That still looks drier than average down the east too aswell as the s/e. We only had 60% of our Rain in June on the back if a drier than average spring and so far only 1 day of rain in July. This is not normal weather up here. With a mean westerly flow as per the charts mushy posts I can see the abnormal east/west split continuing
