  1. The joys of being in the north east. Models still hinting at a beast. With the warmer than average North sea we could potentially be buried if sub -10 uppers do make their way here
  2. More opportunities for some white stuff over the next week before something colder? Certainly looking better after tonight's runs. Hopefully we can get some of that really cold air moving our way over a warm North sea
  3. Quite a miserable day here today. Got upto 6c. Heavy rain overnight and most of tomorrow. Sunday shows a bit more promise but again more than likely marginal for lower ground
  4. In regards to Thursday, met office still have my location down for heavy rain. All day Thursday and most of Friday. Again higher ground favoured for snowfall. Consett I'd imagine should see more snow. Interesting that the mildness never really makes it to us now. Just a couple of days ago I was down for 8c Thursday and now only a max of 4c forecast and looking cool/cold into the weekend
  5. Sea temps are slightly lower now so any breeze slightly off the sea should not moderate the air as much. Although I believe they are still above average
  6. Snow showing for some from tomorrow night as the Atlantic front moves in. Looks marginal again for lower ground. Sorry teeside folk. And another possible event Wednesday night into Thursday. Again marginal for lower ground. I think places like Barnard Castle will do well.
  7. Great weather today. The frost hasn't shifted from the garden for 2days. Another hard frost tonight. Some snow would be lovely though. Been too marginal here so far this winter.
  8. Nope. Very cold and clear overnight. Another hard frost to come. Cold and bright tomorrow. Our next chance seems to be Tuesday night but that's if the system makes it up to us. The colder air seems to be putting up a fight.
  9. Yeah I read it early this morning and it was full from last night showing radar images etc. Surely those posts should be confined to the regionals. ??
  10. Alot of post in here should maybe be confined to the regionals. Onto the models and gfs looks like a wedge going up at t144 and trough disrupts se at 168. Ukmo has the low more organised. It should disrupt se too but who knows.
  11. Upto 5c today. Nice and sunny but that wind is icy cold today. Hopefully early to mid February looking better for something continental but we shall see
  12. Am I the only one that can see Elvis with a big nose? Lol. Looking good though
  13. Temps still around 3c. Sounds very windy out there still too. At least it's been a fully dry day here with sun all day. Next few days looks like little precipitation for the north east and plenty dry and bright weather. Frosty nights I'd imagine.
  14. Are the NOAA anomaly charts still showing a westerly flow into the UK? I wasn't born til Oct 86 so don't know how Feb 85 turned out lol
  15. Reading the southern thread, I mean the model thread, looks like gem has heights into scandi too. I know people will say it's the gem but it's not a bad model nowadays and ECM has moved towards it a couple of times already this winter so something to keep an eye on
  16. The beast is back in fi on para. That's 4 out of the last 5 runs to have the beast in fi. And the one that didn't had a Greenland block instead. Obviously toying with high lat blocking
  17. A total disappointment here. Was just too wet and presuming it turned back to sleet as the temps rose again. Back upto 3c now. Hope everyone who has snow enjoys it
  18. Very light here now. I'll be lucky to get even get a covering. It's great northeastsnow is eventually getting some snow.
