No bugger off . My sister lives near the Towers and we haven't spoke since 1998 after she had more Snow than me

Hahaha oh dear! This winter that’s how I’ve been with my sister over in Meir Heath! They had a tonne of snow at times when we’ve had a smattering lol

mad the difference a few miles can make!

Me and Matt need our own Region on here. Lol. Very far North West Midlands / Very far South East Cheshire Region. .

Then us in Cheshire / North Staffs can avoid you lot in the Midlands when you get Snow and we just miss it.

can I join this gang lol Alton Staffs here...

Although I am the one stupid enough to be having a summer house delivered on the 12th and the base this weekend! Was hoping get it all up in some spring like weather lmao

not a chance by the looks of it.

Alton usually does well snow wise from Easterly feeds!

Hate that ECM update but one update of one model doesn’t decide anything. Saw lots of people claiming last Sunday’s systems would end up further south, and we know what happened.

Exactly, last weekend was now casting and window watching. We were adamant this was a southern event and yet we ended up with 24cm here with it only just thawing fully last night.

I actually have to commit heresy and say this weekend I kind of need it to stay dry as I am looking to install my shed base... but if it does snow I will of course enjoy it all the same haha

I think these things are rarely nailed on until an hour or so before, we’ve all watched weather radars that react totally different than expected.
Im more than happy to actually have a chance this winter! The last few have been dire!

  4. Well guys ended the day on a total 25cm of snow here in the Staffs Moorlands! Alton, ST10 4.

Did not expect this today and the best snow event in years!

current temps -3.5 cold crisp night with a full blanket of snow. Clear night in all.

Wonder when the next event will be, hoping we don’t have to wait as long this time.

    Good night all.

  5. An update from Alton, Staffordshire Moorlands ST10 4.

Well it somehow arrived. A morning of light snow flurries wetting the ground then around 1pm started thick and fast and still going, measurement of 5cms of snow cover at the moment and still blizzard like conditions with heavy snow!

amazed at the amount we are getting, the most we’ve had settle here since 2018!

  6. Alton, Staffordshire Moorlands, ST10 4 area.

been tracking the system all morning taking an age to reach us and it’s hard to call whether it will make it. The system is literally 8 miles south! MetOffice forecast updated to heavy snow for the next few hours but not a flake yet! Do they know something!? Will their forecast outplay? I can only hope. One thing is for certain the chance is there and I am watching with intent!

  7. Hello Midlanders... so judging at the current projection the front is a lot further north than previously expected and slightly more moisture in the mix. I am up in the Staffs Moorlands and our MetO forecast has changed on the hour every hour... now supposedly looking at 12 hours of snow fall, an hour ago it said nothing.

this is going to be a window checker I reckon but deffo some surprises for our patch I am

    guessing!
