  1. I actually agree. Cooler and sunny is better than hot and cloudy. But we have been very spoilt with some amazingly clear blue skies and sun. Some night time rain would be helpful for nature too.
  2. Sunny cloud here today with a light westerly breeze. My old Surrey village of Charlwood currently sitting at highest temp of 27.8 degrees C. They are welcome
  3. Still raining here. Not torrential and pretty steady. Over 2 hours now.
  4. Still going here. Over an hour now. Hope it carries on for a bit. The garden certainly needs it.
  5. Sustained light rain here. Very muggy. Been about 15 minutes. It's bearly laying the dust.
  6. Anyone have any news which may mean rain across our region today? Looking unlikely here but always hopeful!
  7. Glad I am not the only Hashi's sufferer here. At least I don't feel bad not embracing the heat as much as others. I used to be very cold all the time Barbmac, but I cope better with that than heat now. My joints swell and ache which is uncomfortable. Anyhow, back to the weather, currently overcast with the threat of sun breaking through. Oregon clock says 20.8 degrees C and sun!
  8. I have an autoimmune thyroid disease. Regulating heat and cold are a problem for me, though I am far better with cold weather. Extreme heat is no good for anyone, but please forgive me for really not liking these spikes in heat. Beyond that we desperately need rain, not just for the flowers and trees but the wildlife too. If they are talking about really high temperatures, I too just hope they are short lived and not the 6 more weeks some websites are forecasting.
  9. White and grey cloud with the odd patch of blue sky and sun. Cooler westerly breeze today. Not looking forward to the heat building again this weekend.
  10. Ours lasted less than 5 minutes sadly.
  11. Currently raining. Quite heavy too.
  12. The tiny cloud that brought the light shower appears to have grown and is dumping a lot of rain over Lincoln and Scunthorpe. Typical!
  13. Short, negligible shower here. Blue sky coming in from the west.
  14. Hello all you folks down south. Just popping in from the Midlands forum, some may remember I moved up here is May. Hope you are all doing well. No measurable rain since 25th May here. Desperately in need on a break in the weather. No thunderstorms since I have been here either. The below pic is the rural countryside, which is meant to be green!
  15. Allegedly the storm forecast has us down in the area likely to get them and flood.
  16. Small bit of mackerel sky above us this morning. Pic not great. Usually I read this as some rain within 24hrs. However, with current weather conditions I won't hold my breath. I guess it's just a case of 'watch this space'.
  17. Yes it is Bish. We were at a flower show at the castle, OH had a stand there both days. He said the heat was relentless today. Pics from yesterday.
  18. Was out in the Vale of Belvoir yesterday. Tinder dry out that way. Hot and later humid. First night for a while it was extremely uncomfortable sleeping and had the fan on highest speed. Cool breeze coming through the SW facing windows, but I can feel the heat building already. Accuweather predicts 27 degrees C with a real feel of 28. Says the odd shower tomorrow. I expect that to change by the end of the day. Thank fully I am at home today so don't have to go out in the heat. We seriously need rain.
  19. A friend in Loughborough had noted, due to keeping and allotment, we have had no rain here since 24th May. 7 weeks. The few spots today have done nothing. Breeze is nice and cool as per last night. Oregon clock says 18.6 degrees C and a forecast of rain. I have never known this clock to forecast rain so many times, yet we get nothing. I know it's not highly scientific, but in over 20 years it has almost never been wrong.
  20. Ooh just had a brief light shower, less than 5 mins. Was nice while it lasted.
  21. Black skies came and went without precipitation. Rain Alarm Pro says it should be lashing it down. It isn't.
  22. Well, over here, East of Lugabarruga, it's hot, dry, cloudy, dry, sunny, dry, muggy and did I mention dry? All the future rain forecasts for here are now gone and it just shows cloudy sun. We seriously need rain. Everywhere is yellow here. Even seen trees looking like they are in dire need of water.
  23. Lovely cool breeze this evening. Bedroom temp on Oregon clock is 18.9 degrees C. Much more conducive for sleeping. Accuweather reading 15 degrees C outside temperature. It's also threatening showers here tomorrow. I won't hold my breath.
  24. Been humid but blissful here up on the Leicestershire Wolds. Good breeze today. Bedroom temp reading 20.7 degrees C though the bedroom door is shut at the moment. Not wanting to see too high a temperature on Saturday as I am out for the day. Wish I had kept a weather diary since moving here. I think we had 2 lots of appreciable rain and 1 short overnight shower, since 4th May. Last rain I saw was just outside Birmingham on 16th June and it was torrential. It didn't rain here that day though.
