  1. Very warm is an understatement lol! And my Accuweather app says 2 degrees C higher tomorrow! On the plus side it's currently over 28 degrees in Charlwood where I used to live. I do not miss that. And England are through to the semis.
  2. I totally agree. My OH is a Horticultural Therapist and has worked in horticulture for over 30 years. He feels we need rain soon. I am finding the heat bad enough that I am falling asleep all the time. Bit of a breeze today.
  3. Bedroom temp on my Oregon clock is currently 26 degrees C. It's not perfect but it's not been too bad over the years. There appeared to be some precipitation just to the north and east of us earlier this evening. Nothing here but the humidity has been climbing all day. Bedroom reading was 29.9 degrees C at 5pm. Hottest I have seen it since moving here. We have had no breeze today. Bishop is right, sleeping has been possible with cooler nightimes which suit me. I hope this doesn't go on all summer without some respite.
  4. Really struggling in the heat now. Not enjoying it. Since Tuesday I have had 3 occasions where I must have been dehydrated. Time for some rain. The gardens need it!
  5. Another clear, hot, sunny day here. We went to Melton earlier and there was more cloud there.
  6. Well, it's bloomin' hot here, just outside Loughborough and it's my birthday. I am not a heat lover but I don't remember such a long spell of hot, dry weather, without it breaking down in a thunderstorm, which tends to be the case down south. If you like heat, enjoy!
  7. Grey but bright and warm this morning. Allegedly we might get a storm today, but I won't hold my breath. Enjoying the nice weather but sometimes it's nice to have a rain day!
  8. Nothing much here. A little bit of fine rain around 7pm but it came to nothing. Cloudy ESE and a bit of dark cloud. I hope I haven't moved to an area where weather is bland lol
  9. A bit of light rain over night. Looked very foggy/misty around 4am. I doubt we shall get anything much here today. Will report anything significant.
  10. Sun is slightly poking through. Been very humid all morning. Bit of a cooler breeze now. Birds are very noisy. I may be wrong but I think this side of Loughborough may not see much if any action.
  11. Bit late waking today but we finally have some rain!
  12. Been using rain alarm for a number of years now. I think it's very good.
  13. Been keeping an eye on that lump over Belgium/Netherlands. As I have a dog that is equally scared and excited by thunderstorms, I am equally excited and unhappy at the prospect of incoming over the next few days.
  14. Murkey and breezy with overcast skies this morning. Personally not a lover of excessive heat so glad it's on the cooler side. There is one of these wind turbine windmills about a mile outside of the village, clearly visible from the bedroom window on clear days. Windmill not viable today.
  15. Been very hot this afternoon but cooling down now. I have noticed here on the Leicestershire Wolds that we often have a breeze, even on very hot days, so far. Often an ESE as the weathervain shows. I don't know if that is normal here. Going to have to get used to the prevailing winds and such.
  16. Getting a tad warm over here. Sun belting out now!
  17. Sun breaking through now. Still grey skies but brighter!
  18. After a couple of rumbles, a little 5 minute shower and threatening clouds, seems over here in the East Midlands, we are missing out. Anyone else near Loughborough?
  19. I have now moved to East Midlands and sat looking at Blitzortung last night feeling incredibly jealous of the storms, though not of the heat. To be fair, doggy would have been beside himself and I would have had no sleep. Anyhow, I'll bigger back off to the Midlands forum now. Have a great Bank Holiday!
  20. Morning! I have just moved from Surrey up to the East Midlands. Whilst watching my tablet last night I was sure we had some lightning but wasn't 100%. Heard no thunder. I have an amazingly accurate storm detector in the form of my dog, who is both excited and scared at the same time, so any nightime thunderstorms, which I love, result in me getting no sleep! Anyhow, seems we had a little rain here, just East of Loughborough on the Wolds, but no storm. I watched the radar over where I used to live last night rather jealously, despite the fact I would have had no sleep. Anyhow, been a netweather member for many years. Favourite weather's are storms, snow, high winds and heavy rain. Not fond of excessive heat so I will be the first to whinge lol. Hopefully will get to know you all a bit better over time! Current weather here is sunny and breezy.
  21. We had some thunder rolling around for about an hour. We had a 20 - 30 minute storm with 4 flashes and 3 loud claps then nothing. I think that may be us done for the night. I am sort of hoping so as the poor dog cannot deal with it.
