Watching that storm on the radar! Popped up out of nowhere.

Turquoise I feel that - we have the Isle Of Wight storm deflector down here, kills
allmost storms that dare go near. -
First boom of the day, and I'm 6 minutes late lol

viking_smb Here's the link:
On my channel I also have a few other thunderstorm videos, and some other stuff I filmed when I was younger so be warned if you're looking at other vids too

Morning everyone. I got some brief footage last night which I trimmed down into a small compilation. I would usually edit it a lot better, but it's my first time using Davinci Resolve and I'm still learning the ropes! Switching from Adobe is pretty hard.
I also managed to pull a few frames with one or two bolts!I apologise for the really large file size (especially for a 2min video) - it wouldn't let me change any compression settings lol and for some reason it changed from mp4 to move
Edit 2: Apologies for the neighbour's daughter in one part too!

Right, I'm calling it quits now. Got some great footage, I'll be back in a few hours (or maybe tomorrow) with the footage I got! Good luck to anyone braving it tonight. It seems to have died down now.
Hopefully, the risks are good for tomorrow too. ESSL and some other forecasts are hinting at some isolated storms.

anddd I think that's a wrap? No more lightning it seems.... Well it's been a good start to the season so far!! Wasn't expecting that!

It's moving away very fast, but wow has it been a bright one! I'll share all my footage once I call it quits and edit them to only show the best bits.

Wow that bolt was awesome! I've only got 6min of recording space left, might have to call in the father's phone for reinforcements!!

Sam jackson88 wow, that's awesome. Wasn't quite as close for me, couple miles at least.
That was a good one. Bright, too!
WOO oh this is great! What a start to the 2024 season! Shame it's moving away, but I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far!

Sam jackson88 James86 I know right? Was amazing!
Oh crap now my phone's running out of storage. Gotta clear it before another strike happens!

WOW! Big strike! Now the neighbours have decided to come outside and scream (they have children, for context!). I'll post the recording here later haha. That was awesome, caught me well off-guard.

ChannelThunder I wish that it went boom before it got inland. I recently took over my brother's room as he's now moved out, and I now have a window facing south. So far though it's been no use. Lol

First flash of the evening, followed by a faint rumble! Got one small issue though - it's very far away! Officially though I'm pretty sure that this is my first storm of the year.

Lu. Strange. Thunder this evening is deciding to be very selective! Lets hope this is the beginning.

Heard a faint rumble - I'm struggling to video it as it's at thee only side that my home doesn't have any windows on. Typical. Nevermind, as it strengthens it should hopefully move it's way into my viewing range
Lu. oh really? Lightning radars went crazy for a sec and now they're going crazy at Chichester

Portsmouth just went boom - Didn't hear or see anything though.

My camera is now set and ready, just in case the cells to the E IOW decide to boom.

ChannelThunder Just had a roast dinner too. Now time to get up my tri-pod

Mother nature should do this whole "Storms on Easter Sunday" again - it's quite satisfying looking at all the radars while munching on my chocolates.

ChannelThunder I totally agree!

Azazel how does it look?
The clouds are huge from what I'm seeing, but too far away to get any more info than that. @ me if you get any pictures or anything

SqueakheartLW I would be if I hadn't of seen yesterday's mini-storm.
Also, anyone eyeing the stuff in the channel? I'm assuming it's gonna die out overtime, but some parts of that line look pretty heavy...
