  8. As a matter of interest, did the Government use the now infamous emergency alert system anywhere for Ciarán?
  9. As said in the other thread, 946 from my Bresser station is a new record, then! Looking back at the telltale, the lowest was actually 945.3 at 08:15 this morning. PS IN terms of calibration, I have a Kestrel calibrated 5400 heat stress tracker that reads the same within 0.2hPa.
  10. Thanks, Tom. So my 946 from my Bresser station is a new record, then! Looking back at the telltale, the lowest was actually 945.3 at 08:15 this morning. PS IN terms of calibration, I have a Kestrel calibrated 5400 heat stress tracker that reads the same within 0.2hPa.
  11. Measured a gust of 47 mph just after 6am. Pressure currently an extraordinary 946.2hPa, by far the lowest I have measured at sea level. The local flood alert has been lifted.
  12. Currently pressure a slightly remarkable 966.4hPa, gusty winds but nothing above 24mph as yet and 8.8mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Flood alerts to the hotel half a mile away which is a bit close for comfort. Unfortunately the track appears to be swinging up now, with the eye looking to make landfall over Bournemouth/Poole.
  13. They were pretty much that at Herbrand Walk this lunchtime. High tide a little late but big. Note the person standing on the beach overtopped by breaching wave.
  14. >Arome has some places getting towards 100mm Over what period of time? We have had 90.8mm here in the last week...
  15. There's a proper atmospheric river overflowing on East Sussex today; we have seen 56mm (nearly 21/4" in old money) of rain in the last 24 hours here.
  16. Yellow warning. Meh. I mean - it's raining here now, although neither the radar nor the predictions think it should be.
  17. 18.4mm at midnight, and a total of 31.6mm in the last 24 hours. A bit heavy, but not awful.
  18. Babette seems to be moving north more rapidly than predicted; the rain has almost cleared the south coast already (21:30z) although interestingly there is a small onshore effect with rain appearing as the southern flank crosses the coast.
  19. Clear overnight and beautiful golden sunrise. 3.4C the low a few moments ago. No sign of ground frost.
  20. The wind is slowly shifting from the SW to the NW and temperature presently 10.9C and still falling quickly. We have had 20.4mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
