  2. Peter Cockcroft is really putting a downer on tomorrow evening , across Essex 5cm of Snow, Kent 10cm then saying it will turn to rain and London will be only rain, and will turn to slush any Snow. What is the matter with the BBC dont they like Snow???
  3. How about Snow later today? there is that depression coming down the North Sea how far inland will the Snow showers come?
  4. Peter Cockcroft saying Snow turning to rain on Sunday temp 5oc, something must have changed?
  5. Anybody know how to get rust off runners on a sledge, mines the old fashioned ones built of wood not a plastic one, we used to use candle wax to make it go faster on the runners
  6. Pobably be a mad panic for Salt now, places like B@Q probably sold out
  7. I have to recondition the sledge, the runners have gone rusty, any suggestions?? also is it tempting doom??
  8. Not much happening then just a few specs in the Sea?? heading into the Wash??
  9. Peter Cockcroft said not much frost tonight as the air mass is to dry.
  10. Not sure how the block is collapsing so quick? we nearly get the 510 line over us, how often does this happen over the years? all of a sudden the Atlantic sweeps in without even a fight of course unless this changes?
  11. I prefer the will it rain today one, dont want to offend anybody seems better as you can see everything better
  12. Just saw the BBC forecast Matt Betts just said there are lots of people getting over excited about a few flurries of Snow. it will be getting colder and a interesting developing feature for the weekend spreading south with Snow, didnt mention about getting milder behind it!! could be interesting??
  13. On the Fax charts there was a bump of high pressure forming, will that affect anything? ie wind direction changing? changing the Easterly? Does this mean we havent a clue? UK Outlook for Tuesday 14 Feb 2012 to Tuesday 28 Feb 2012: Some cold weather looks likely during this period, with both daytime maximum and night-time minimum temperatures likely to be below or well below average at times. Rainfall amounts should be around average in northern areas, with some snow at times here. Further south rainfall is likely to be above average with some prolonged spells of rain possible, with also a risk of some significant falls of snow. Sunshine amounts will probably be around or slightly above average Updated: 1136 on Mon 30 Jan 2012
  14. Watched the BBC Forecast at 12.PM, All they said in our neck of the woods cold and dry temps 4oc (thought rather high) some Snow NE, and Snow showers in the North Sea, all the activity over the West Laura Tobin sounded quite relived at the forecast as she read it, perhaps it was going to be more complex at one stage??
  15. The council have put one of those light guards on ours, i think our old next door neighbour complained it was to bright I think usually the Daily Panic does it. they wouldnt let us out of the house without a security guard, certainly not play in the snow it is to dangerous
  16. Seems like the 528 line is over the EAST then retreating into the North Sea before returning, also the Met Office is showing a trough over the SE on Sunday, will that trough produce anything? also with the 528 line moving a bit will Snow be a question or more Sleety Rain?
  17. Cold ( i have one at present) hasnt arrived yet, tonight according to Met Office will be wet here, i think cool and Dry tomorrow 7c ( thought it might be cooler) i think the 528 line is over here Sunday? just, and then taking a hike arround the SE
  18. There will be a tough battle between the cold and mild, still not certain the cold will win, if the cold does win in the East, SE will we get any Snow? or be cold and dry?
  19. What hat would you require sir?? IF only the high would be slightly further south!! ideal position, slightly feading NE Winds in, Low sliding in towards the med, ideal.
  20. I really hope i am wrong, i really do. ( its just instincts) i used to see battles between the siberian high and the med low pushing North nearly all the time the low and warm air used to win, quite a struggle, but it always used to be a warm air win on the borderline cases
  21. Whats the bet the Atlantic will break through?? the Siberian high is to far north
  22. Experience! i dont have to post charts, its almost like a yougster coming into a company has a degree can tell everybody what to do when it comes down to it ?? real life? see my point?? dont rely on charts, take instinct from looking at charts
  23. Where?? we have just the 528 line over us being pushed by the Jet, too many fronts pilling up in the Atlantic waiting to pounce
  24. I expect most of the cold to go North, not enough flow towards us, it will be colder but not enough for snow!!
