  1. Such big temperatures in Flinland has been also hitting but just once in 2010 with 37 degrees. That is likely to return at some point.
  2. Reaching 37 degrees is quite rare for a Northern country. However I think these temps will be hitting often now.
  3. The max temperature last year was measured in Finland was 32,9 degrees on 28th of June. Sweden got a freaking 37,2 degrees last year. The hottest temperature in all of Northern Europe. I forgot about that but after searching, I actually remember now.
  4. Thing is, the temps in Scandinavia are usually 15 degrees in May, this year we're lucky enough to get over 20 degrees most of this month. We're currently getting same temps as the UK, but the warm and dry weather comes back this weekend. Very rare that for a long time North will be warm while Western and Southern Europe gets all the rain and cold weather. Wouldn't be suprised if this is a long term pattern. High pressure is always near us and it doesn't seem to move at all in the East and giving warm air all the time.
  5. Yeah, these past few years have been rough. I believe this trend will be a new norm. People should get ready as at some point the 40 degrees will be back. I can feel it due to that being happening too often due to climate change,
  6. Yay for once, UK is more warmer than Finland. It will be other way around again this weekend.
  7. Can confirm, been very nice in Scandinavia. Thankfully we got at least some rain yesterday. The temps currently aren't too high with temps being as high as in the UK with 15 degrees. However the dry weather comes back and very decent 20 degrees will return this weekend.
  8. Oh right, UK people are used to much higher temps in May. I remember that there have been some years with near 35 degrees there. Unusual, but the end of the Summer could be very nice with good high temperatures. It usually is that way that there will be some warmth at some point.
  9. About Spain, I watched the weather broadcast yesterday, and the meteorologist said that we shouldn't go to Spain as it will be as high of temperatures as in here in Northern Europe.
  10. 15 degrees is quite decent though. Not every year is going to be hot by immediately getting 30 degrees. There's still so much summer ahead..
  11. Quite windy over here in Southern FInland at the moment.
  12. Yes. Even if the beginning of the Summer won't look great by getting 30 degrees, the Summer is just beginning, there's time to get your 30 degrees. Probably in July at the latest.
  13. Just because there's no heatwaves, doesn't mean the temperatures you will get will be that bad. Reminder that Summer is still ahead and it could be possible that heatwaves can come all the way until October. Calm down, you can still go to the beach soon. Be patience. Much warmer than in the Nordics at the moment. Not bad. Decent 15 degrees.
  14. Cold air is dominating the weather. 20 degrees returns this Saturday. There will be showers today but the dry weather is coming back tomorrow and the high pressure comes our way. Meaning that it will help pump in the warm air from the South. Thankfully we got rain all day yesterday. We've had too much dry weather already. That's not very good news because of the fire risk. As you can see, warm air is very close to Finland's borders in the East but it won't quite get here yet until the weekend. Also current temperatures, look how chilly it is in Sweden. Clear sky allowed temperatures to almost get to freezing. The only reason Finland has higher temperatures is because of cloudy weather.
  15. We're going off-topic. I ask you to return to normal discussion about weather. DM me or we can continue to talk about this stuff in another thread.
  16. He comes right before we open presents a few hours earlier. I thought you understand.
  17. We open presents on Christmas Eve evening. To be honest I don't mind. I might not be as excited as when I wake up on Christmas day morning to get presents. We also eat Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is more like another day spending with the family. However it's moslty back to normal.
  18. I was really mainly talkin about Southern Finland. I do know that Lapland still has intense cold temperatures. But fair enough...
  19. Due to Finland being between warm Atlantic and the cold winter continent, the temperatures during day to night can change dramatically. Especially winter when -40 degrees can easily rise to -5 degrees the next day. Good example here in the South. One day temperatures were -10, the next day it was already +10 and spring with rain.
  20. I'm glad you loved it. And I mean come on, we are the happiest people in the world so of course we are all kind here. Tourists are always welcomed. I recommend to also come in the summer time. It's sometimes warmer in here than in the UK. Dry weather also can last for months, unlike the UK because of the Atlantic near by.
  21. I have regularly experienced -30 regularly every year in the 2000s and even sometimes in 2010s. Here in South it just doesn't get too cold anymore. Sea is more warmer during winter too. No -30 experiences for me at all in the 2020s. Unless I wanted to go to Lapland.
  22. Thunderstorms over Southern Hungary at the moment.
  23. It's very cold in Lapland during Winter. Luckily I live in Southern Finland. Nowadays the weather isn't as cold as it used to. Even last winter temperatures didn't get lower than -15 degrees in my city.
  24. Today's temperatures aren't as high as the previous few weeks. Most places don't get over 15 degrees. Warm to the North still but the rain will move there which means the warm air moves away. 20 degree temperatures return this weekend, when the weather turns dry and warm. Just like for the past month now.
  25. Nordic has been very warm for a month now. I feel bad that you guys have been getting cold weather. Luckily it will start to get warm soon.
