  1. Hi guys. Been out the loop recently. Anyone know how the north west is expected to fare with this event? I have a friend that is supposed to collect a couch tomorrow evening and she's concerned with how the wind might affect her van due to it being higher than a car if you get my meaning. Much appreciated
  2. The idiotic layout and design of my home makes it impossible to vent a proper hosed AC unit. I suspect a lot of people are in the same boat. Something is going to have to give. If this is the future, homes need to be designed for heat and flooding rather than cold
  3. Never want to see the the sun outside of the winter months when its weaker than a McDonald's coffee then
  4. The leftover heat from each day is just making things worse too. Not a hint of a breeze either like you said. Just stagnant warm air
  5. If I did that, my sweat could probably fill one
  6. Option 2 definitely. Can't wait for it to end and nope I never see the sun again. I'm tired of waking up lethargic and unrested. I'm tired of my clothes sticking to me. Everything is just so much harder when the weather is filthy like this
  7. The day on day residual heat build up in my house is bordering on suffocating. Hope to god I never see the sun again
  8. I think it hit 22c or so during the 40c event last year
  9. Keep it up mate, you're sense of humour is refreshing in our darkest hour
  10. Maybe they got bored of the mad thread and went for a wander It definitely seems to be an IMBY situation. Many places in the same region have gotten away with the highest temp values compared to what I've experienced here. Never do well out of an easterly where I live
  11. After this muck ends, it wouldn't brother me if I never saw the sun again Agreed. No need for it
  12. I'm in t shifts with no jacket at 12c. I'd swap with you any day as it's so much easier to warm up than it is to cool down
  13. I don't envy anyone living in the south east. Having said that, even Lancashire doesn't escape the muck from plumes or easterlies like it used to. Cut the UK in half. Float the northern half to where Greenland is, and the southern half to the Azores. People can pick where they go
  14. You must be a riot at parties Seriously though it's like pulling teeth whenever troughs and euro highs are involved. I think I'll have a breakdown before it does
  15. Lucky you lol. Cumbria always seems to be north of the borderline for this kind of stuff. A good chunk of the country could see low 30s over the weekend and I can honestly see heat related hospital admissions due to night time temps not falling. Was the same in may when we had weeks of easterly based high pressure. Southern Europe was stuck under low.
  16. Still 19c here with a daytime high of 28c. It's why I absolutely despise easterly winds. We seem to be some kind of localised heat dome. How anyone can enjoy this is beyond me. Sunshine over rain, I get. But in what universe is this pleasant? As expected, the GFS is not going to let this go....
