  8. Blimey, still lots of wood around then!! They closed the beaches around the Worthing area IIRC, only problem is the wood will be all rotten by now . BTW what is that boat doing on the side of the cliff????? Thank you for the photos
  9. Hello and Welcome to the forum, nice to have you on board Interesting article....love the part that says the road from Ilminster to Honiton was completely blocked by three lorries. -0.01% that happening again on the A303!! (although you never know) and drivers were being advised to carry snow chains with them...wtf!!!! haven't seen snow chains before, then again Im only 27 Thanks Mr Data for the article
  10. "sniff, sniff", nevermind, the rain was so heavy no light could pass through it , Easing off now, but some more on the way looking at that radar
  11. Just had a tremendous hail/rain shower, torrential rain falling horizontally and very squally winds - no lightning seen yet though
  12. Nice pictures Blackdown, love the colour in the first one. Looks to be a good camera for dusk shots. BTW is Stoopers Hill anywere near Hearne Hill?
  13. Yes I have to agree with you on this one.....plus could there be a chance just behind the rain band of possibly very nasty squall lines with imbedded TS??
  14. No rain here yet, though the clouds look threatening and looks like I am at the end of the long line of showers from London stretching to Dorset/Somerset
  15. I know its the wrong time to post this considering there are severe floods across most of the UK, but I certainly didn't realise there was a tornado across the South Hams district of Devon on the 19th July Saw these photos on the BBC Devon website, looks quite a powerful one and pretty certain judging my the photos that it did touch the ground around Salcome/Kingsbridge. Any reports of damage around there?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/content/image_g...gallery.shtml?1
  16. Yes, some very heavy showers just coming over me at the moment, torrential downpours but no thunder
  17. First major rainfall of the day here. just had a torrential shower which only lasted 3/4 minutes, but it was big. No thunder heard
  18. Looks like a covergance line formed behind the rain stretching from SW Wales right down to the IOW. Another area of cells forming in South Devon
  19. On the other hand of what is happening furthur east, its slowly brightning up here and not much rain at all today  Wondering if convection will occur here this afternoon? Warming up slowly
  20. Morning all, Very strange skies here this morning. To my W/SW its much lighter yet to my E/NE its very dark indeed with a blanket of stormy looking cloud. Just light rain here at the moment - and have got the lounge light on, thats how dark it is!!
  21. Yes things are starting to happen, and by looking at the current radar looks as though the action is a little more west than first thought??
  22. Stuck another photo of the storm that produced the FC - It isn't zoomed in so much clearer (although it doesn't show the FC). Looks an angry beast Judging by the photos above it looks as though the FC dropped from the right of the cell were the rain seems to stop?
