  1. Heavy hailstorm here at 14:20, lasted for about 10-15 min and moved off to the east, where as i type Evesham is getting a battering. One of the heaviest and strongest i have seen. Temp dropped from 14c to 7.8c in a matter of minutes Pressure rose 1 mb in the hail column, and after the wind swung from a SW to a NW/N.
  2. taken today (22nd may) : taken using a Canon eos rebel with 300mm lens and a UV filter.
  3. Just out of interest, what happens when you go to this link http://weathercam.dns2go.com/
  4. Yes i think its probably due to pollution and atmospherics, just like the sun. Something to do with the angle of viewing agianst the angle of atmospheric gasses and ozone i would have thought, particule refraction?
  5. when i click i get this : "No alerts or warnings have been issued for this region"
  6. When you pause the frame just after the strike, when it lights the ground up, it looks like the stroke came down behind you and somehow arched over the top towards the light, judging by the angle of the light:
  7. The first one i posted worked fien (on the day of posting) when i was trying out my old simple modem (speedtouch), but i just cartn get it to work with the router, i think i'll ring the Dlink helpline and get one of them to talk me through it The links wont work now anyway as the ip address has changed (its dynamic) but this i could sort out by changing the web link.
  8. Still having probs even now with my new router I have port forwarded as they suggest fro the software but whenever i put in the url for the webcam i.e 88.etc it comes up with page can not be displayed.
  9. Worth the money though, especially if your out on the road
  10. I thought the true definition of 'Funnel Cloud' was a rotating coloumn of air reaching towards the ground but not connected, and 'Tornado' was the term for when the rotating column of air actually reaches the ground and connects, thus hte two being completely seperate and not interchangable?
  11. Thats a reflection on the window, its actually pointing outside, i do have another cam with lux 2 as this one is only lux0
  12. Excellent , well im happy now that i finally got it working, should be more interesting now to watch.
  13. Hi all, i think i may have fixed the problem i was having with the webcam. Heres the link it should be a live stream, altohugh now dark the time indicator should be running, if you could tell me wether it works that would be great Hopefully if working then it will be able to stream in interseting weather, also may add sound.
  14. Well doen Paul and the group, certainly has been very interseting to read the posts etc, appriciate the amount of effort you guys put in, have a nice break down near the beach.
  15. Overcast As 8/8, weather station predicting rain next 24hrs: Temp 18.8°C -0.1 °C/last hr Rainfall 0.0mm Wind 8.1 mph SSE Dewpoint 10.4 °C RH 58% Pressure 1021.0 mb -1.5 mb/hr
  16. I carnt understand why some bolteks on the internet show the 600 mile radius when they are completely out? The new net weather system sounds interesting triangulating returns from lots of detectors, that will be very accurate.
  17. Yes indeed, i think is a range of 100-150 miles isnt it for their accuracy outside that they can be anything up to 100 miles out.
  18. Yep if all goes well then you lot in the midlands will have a reliable detector to use soon
  19. Just ordered a Boltek stormtracker from america, worked out at around £350 thats with Lightning 2000 software and Continental maps. Bet it will take along time to get here though.
  20. hmm. but all the componants take the same load off the PSU. As all componants use the same voltage all the time, you can see this in system bios. You only drain more power when using devices that do not need power all of the time like a dvd rom drive. Well thats my knowledge anyway. Like when you build a PC you have to calculate the wattage of all the devices to give you the total needed wattage, so that you can by a power supply that will give this power , usually buying one thats slightly higher so it wont short.
  21. :o --> QUOTE(Tim B @ 7 May 2006, 12:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do these new looking strike alerts work any better than the older ones in terms of design? As the battery force broke the bottom on mine so I have to keep improvising means of holding the battery in and it often causes a lot of false positives. Are you refering to the Thunderbolt?
