    Yes indeed. Laptops are very low power and much safer to have on all the time.

    (Midlands is in U.K ) Yes i have decided to leave it on 24/7 soon, its going in my converted actic.

    Its just im slightly concerned with overheating ect, fire hazards for example, but i suppose i coupld set up a shut down temp in the BIOS

    Cheers for that, i will probaly move my PC into the attic, so i can leave it on all night .

    I ahve a 650 watt PSU on my Pc, how much do you think that would coast 24/7. Also dont you ever get concered about if something went wrong with it and say possed a threat?

    Got quite a few mini Daffodils in the garden now (pictures in photography section)

    No you carnt get a UV sensor for that W/S, you could buy one separtly but you wont be able to do anything with it. I currently dont leave my PC on over night as a 650 Watt PSU esats up quite a bit of power, and the PC could do with a break. I may get a laptop and use that as a Weather monitor to keep it on all the time, and to use less power.

    Hi, i personally think Weather Display is truely excellent software. Its true that at first it puts you off, but once you figure out the basics it becomes a very powerful tool. Plus theres new releases regulary. Theres also a complete forum where people are asking questions, and you will be able to find any queries that you have about running it. The features are endless, and you can output a tonne of information to websit ect.

    do you have a program that dials up when your pc starts, and do you have a router?

    Looks O.K to me, i take it you have broadband, how come theres dial up information?

    Could you post a screenshot of your ftp page?

    either your firewall is stopping it upload or your settings are wrong in the ftp settings e.g password username etc.

    heres a templete from W/D I have this mini website so that people who dont have high speed interent can see the details quickly.

    its o.k, W/D comes with templetes for you to use.

    is it working o.k now? as for as for a website, there are premade templetes you can use

    Well if it works o.k for a bit agian now, you may have to set up times in theat screen to close the port hopefully this will fix it, at what interval does the software update with the new data?

    Right mines now installed, a nice new little scrolling animation at the start, and its found my weather data. :lol:

    Ok, good luck :lol: (oh just one other thing if you have 2 serial ports on the back of your PC try swapping the console cable over. :lol:
