  1. This is true. Last year we had the end of March heatwave which was quite something with temperatures of 70ºF, and 8 or 9 solid days of wall to wall sunshine at the end of May, and up to 82ºF...and that was it. In fact my hottest temperature all year was recorded in May!
  2. Is it spring yet? Sun's getting higher in the sky every day, and I've had enough of winter. Time to roll me barbeque out.
  3. I wonder how much you had in 2010 when I had 28cm? School Aycliffe and Woodham/Ropemoor had noticeably more then, as they have now, as they have always. Also, it's up to 4º, the breeze feels noticeably warmer and it's thawing quite quickly.
  4. 16cm average snow depth here, 9cm added in the last 24 hours.
  5. Agreed, and there's a few more hours yet by the looks of things.
  6. Moderately snowing still and blowing about. What I'd like to see for a good half hour before it dies out is some massive flakes laying down a couple extra cms in no time...that's what this spell has lacked for me.
  7. I don't need evidence. You want to know why? Because I was not making a claim, I was making a joke out of it. Lighten up man.
  8. Haven't even had chance to measure it, at a guess around a cm, with around a cm at tea time. Then probably another cm now, but it's all guesswork.
  9. Yes but there is a difference between "reported" and "reality". I take most reports outside the Northern thread with a pinch of salt. I've seen excitable snow starved yoofs report a foot or more of snow and back those claims up with a picture of their Corsa complete with body kit and a cm of graupel on the roof.
  10. You can imagine that the really really heavy stuff showing on the radar can only be rain.
  11. Although the radar shows all the heavy stuff north of me (like usual), I can confirm that it is snowing heavily here.
  12. Heavier stuff skirting just a few miles to the North of me - it's a desert here. Here, I was up Mickey Moor this evening, you've had a big dollop there like!
  13. Same here. The snow isn't that bad here, but I get out and about quite a lot and there's tonnes of snow in some places, which means tonnes of opportunities to get stuck and held up. A thaw would now be welcomed. Let's go out with a bang on Friday.
  14. Just had a couple of pulses of moderate wet snow pushing through, not really leaving much extra lying though.
  15. Once this finger of very light snow passes through, I'll be amazed if we get anything significant.
