  8. Thanx very much for all your comments, its not my photography, its just that everything looks beautiful in the snow, its just a shame we see so little of it these days! grrrrrrr
  9. Nice pics, puts my camera to shame! I'll ask santa for a new one me thinks ;o)
  10. Nice pics, don't mention wind turbines around these parts though, or they will call for your head to be chopped off!! Personally though, I don't mind them at all!
  11. Yeah, thats the beauty of living here, you get quite a few snow lying days and you're not far from the city of Manchester, so you get the best of both worlds so to speak ;o)
  12. Haha lazy bones! Good job I was up early, otherwise I'd be taking pics of spring lambs in green fields! Well hopefully there will be more snow, another cold snap has been forecast at end of week and into next, so watch this space I say
  13. Few light snow flurries here this morning, as demonstrated by the dark/ angry looking clouds in the pictures this am. Majority of the snow came about 7pm yesterday & then froze solid (temp of minus 3oC at 7am) More pics in photography section
  14. Just a few pics I thought I'd share with you from around where I live in the hills of Oldham & Saddleworth, some show the glorious blue skies, and then others show dark angry looking shower clouds that have produced the odd snow flurry this morning. On some of the pictures you can see the urban sprawl of Oldham & Manchester beyond. Temp was -3oC when I woke up at 7am, now a rather tropical 2oC & snow is melting as is always the case
  15. minus 3oC, initially clear blue skies when I got up at 7am, but now much cloudier - looks like wintry shower on way. Snow lying (approx 3-4 cm)
  16. Quite intense snow falling here at the moment over past 30 mins, and seems like it may be a decent band, its a white out now, and if it keeps going, could be in for a few inches, esp now its nightfall and temps dropped considerably!
  17. Quite a few snow shower here late morning, giving intermittent coverings, which have now totally gone in the strong sunshine Looks like the Ireland, NW scotland and SW eangland are getting the worst of it all, just had a look at the princetown cam on dartmoor, looks nice and wintry
  18. Light covering of snow here this morning from a hefty shower about 4am, it woke me up as heavy hail to start with, which then turned to snow. Seems to be a distinct lack of any shower activity since then Temp currently 1.1oC
  19. Had a nice pleasant surprise snowfall this morning around about 9am, went on for quite some time and left a widespread covering, stuck immediately, as temp was down to -6oC overnight.....The snow seemed to be falling from the thick foggy skies.....probably only 0.5cm, but looked like a winter wonderland, even down in the town centre of Oldham & lasted til early afternoon
  20. Simply stunning, well done!! Liked every one, but particularly the big round plug-hole thingy!! Don't live to far from there.... might have to venture out for a stroll.....
  21. Well after doing a bit of research this is supposed to be a "Hale Winter", where a bad winter is experienced every 22/23 years, and this is the 23rd year, it sounds ridiculous, which is why I think its great!! .......so yes, things are going to go pear-shaped!! hehe EDIT: I'm having second thoughts already, thinks its going to be distinctively average!!
  22. Oh no, definately not, im gearing up for the March Dissapointment.......where its snows heavily, and within a few minutes, its all gone!! No seriously, I dont think its the last for many people, its only the beginning of Feb for crying out loud......im sure there will be joy, and dissapointment for many weeks to come yet
  23. Heavy snow showers since yesterday evening, and blizzard conditions this morning, now easing off, taken some pics for your pleasure, but will be posting more in the photography section. Temp is currently 0oC
  24. I did sense he was being sarcastic in his defence, when he mentioned the RAF helicopter!! but then again, if he's being truthful........ lol
