  1. Eh ??

    When did that happen then.

Looks to me to be a Strong Risk of Thunderstorms from convergence across the East Midlands moving into Lincs and Northern East Anglia. Southern parts of Essex, London and Kent staying mostly dry throughout today.

But please do show me the forecast that says we are due Thunderstorms today :pardon:

    interesting pictures

so even though I may see a shower/storm I should hopefully avoid the worst of the weather with a bit of luck which is good

  2. We're very much at risk of seeing heavy showers and perhaps isolated thunderstorms by around mid-afternoon period, however I'm thinking more about where the potential for best thunderstorm development lies, and currently that would look to be over the regions I mentioned previously.

    Thank you as well

I'll just wait see and hope ( that I don't see any that is )

  3. Well you might as well have the truth and id say there is a good chance of Thunderstorms across our region especially between 3-6pm in my opinion including Warwickshire! Yorkshire area may see the worst storms but here could easily see some nasty downpours, hail and regular thunder and lightning.

    Thanks for the honesty

I'm not on my own so I should be all right

Hope they're gone by 6pm so I can watch Doctor Who in peace and not be in pieces

  4. The focus very much of eastern parts of the country towards mid-late afternoon period as the region of defined low-level convergence transfers eastward, coninciding with maximum available instability-- generally from E Yorks and all counties due south looks to be the likely region of good thunderstorm development. Woudn't be surprised to see some rather intense cells today as converging of the low-level flow becomes defined.

can you simplyfy that for me

what does this mean for our area eg Birmingham Coventry etc

    good bad etc

  5. looks to be just for Eastern areas, anywhere west of Derby likely to mostly miss out, no advisory even for my area, very similar to yesterday for SW, W and NW midlands with just a few showers

judging by what you say I am just on the limit with might/might not get one

do these new weather warnings from the met office show actually show detailed areas like the old ones

all I see are general areas

  6. Yes, definately looks the the East Midlands and East of England have the best chance of seeing the greatest thunderstorms this afternoon/evening but I think almost everywhere could see the odd sharp shower with a few rumbles.

well that cheers me up a little as I am a little further west and can probably just about manage a heavy shower with a few rumbles but I'll wait and see before celebrating

  7. Unlike the Majority I'm going to hate today

just so I can prepare what type and severity of weather I can expect and what time is it expected to kick off and is it guaranteed for my specif area

I live in Bedworth the postcode is CV12 9AB

I thank anyone who can help

  8. Spot on observations W09 and your forecasts before yesterday's event :good:

I managed to time-lapse the moment of collision, pretty much over the centre of the city which show a few brief funnel clouds

Filmed through a haze of aphids which were swarming in biblical proportions (They must have read the charts - funny how they always know when there's a storm about ) :D

edit. how do you get the video directly on to the page??? :wallbash:

when I try to load your link it says the url is invalid

  9. Typical. The last time we had a setup like this and I was in Bristol, the southeast got a pasting and we got a few showers. Now that I'm in the southeast, there's absolutely zilch around here and the West Country is reporting thunderstorms! How annoying. :fool:

The Met Office are forecasting heavy thundery showers for the SE tomorrow so if your still there you might be in luck

  10. Big downpour bang on the center of Newcastle, wish I was there!

White radar returns on the netweather radar (up to 200mm per hour)

It's all a little too far north of here, got our office window open but can't hear anything.

EDIT: Beat me to it Peter.

The Radar near me seems quite tame by comparison
