Then look what's coming from the south west from Thursday

Let's hope summer is on it's way.

no surprise to see the SE keep the warmer/hot conditions for longest

  2. Just subscribed to NW Extra Radar for a month in anticipation of the weekend's events to come (Not really a fan of thunder infact I am rather petrified of storms if the truth be known) but this will help me to prepare

same here , was beginning to feel lonely around here

going to be a terrible couple of days for me I think whether I see a storm or not

  3. Indeed thats what I been thinking, the pressure charts on the BBC forecasts suggests a weather front nearby therefore there will be alot of mid-level cloud tomorrow to break up because if it doesnt, the day will just consist of cloudy skies with showery outbreaks of rain. However the forecasts are indicating that the cloud will break up and the heavy showers will start in the afternoon.

I personally can't see huge amount of potential because the storms over the continent would have to travel over the chilly North Sea which will kill any towering cloud tops therefore you are just left with alot of cloud and outbreaks of rain. Still, would not rule out the odd rumble of thunder but as ever its radar watching for those in the South.

well the BBC has my location as cloudy and sometimes cloud just loves to stick around

best chances seems locations west of London in the afternoon period

  4. Well I avoided the storms last Friday / Saturday and are hoping to do so again

the risk of the worst weather I think is a little south and south west of my location especially by the afternoon even though I don't think showers can't be ruled out for me , hopefully no thundery ones though

  5. Look at the CZ developing a line Cu across the E Midlands -- can be seen on satellite imagery and radar. Keeping a firm eye on the cells ahead of the CF to the west.

selfishly speaking I hope those ones in wales die down a bit or at least not have too much lightning as it's that what scares me the most

  6. Should have passed if not passing over your region currently. Have a look to your east and west -- if you see clouds "bubbling up" to your east and skies becoming clearer to your west, the low-level converging winds have passed and the winds should be flowing north-westerly over your region. In other words, it may be that the risk of thunderstorms for the west Midlands has passed... for the time being, that is.

that maybe happening clouds obscured the sun for a while but they seem to moving away

  7. Looks like as soon as the region of low-level had passed a short time ago and the winds veered north-westerly, convection just fell apart. Incredible to watch. One moment I was looking at defined TCu to my west, and then soon after the skies are clear. Just the way it goes I suppose.

has that low level thingy past me yet

  8. looking on the bright side for me is that the longer I don't get one the less time I have to suffer if one comes along

just out of interest will these showers/storms fade with setting of the sun or will some other mechanism keep them going

just want to know so i can get an idea of when I can relax again

  9. Personaly I think forecasts need to be taken as nothing more than a guide, storms are much like snow in that they are complex and difficult to forecast. The best thing people can do is keep an eye on temps and dew points and then observe the satellite imagery and see how much and where convection is taking place.

yep I just saw the 12:30 forecast and he says not to take the areas as gospel just as an indication of what weather you might expect like you said

he did make a point of saying they're could be some heavy showers/downpours in northern and eastern England this evening which ties in with what some were saying this morning

seems to be a case of wait and see and hope for those that want them and for one's that don't like me

  10. just watched the latest Forecast with Peter Gibbs on news 24 and their latest map shows a few but not many showers around at all this afternoon and will be set off by warmer temperatures in the SE ahead of the cold front and not many around this evening either

what do people think of the latest forecast

Also the dew point has gone down from 11 to 10 degrees , not sure whether that's good or bad
