(which was a big problem last time...)

  7. she needs to get the hell out of there. go north. i'm hearing predictiions of a severe storm surge of 18 to 25 feet MINIMUM. if she doesnt know what a storm surge is , just use the word "tsunami".
  8. update - there will be a dusk to dawn curfew in New Orleans. according to the radio, if you are caught out in the streets during that curfew you WILL be arrested. national guard and army deployed. MANDITORY evacuation is currently underway in the areas affected - mostly the Louisiana gulf coast. "the biggest evacuation in the history of Louisiana" they've learned their lesson from katrina - and are obviously taking no chances.
  9. just listening to WIBR-FM in Baton Rouge. gustav is expected to increase in intensity to a CAT 4. sustained winds of 145mph. expected to make landfall around midday tommorow local time - thats 6pm our time.

  12. saw that youtube polish bus video - really shows just how powerful that twister was... its a big bus - and it was just flipped over like a toy. i hope nobody was seriously injured in that bus.

WDUN radio has reported one fatality. in case you dont know - google maps has a weather channel layer with radar http://maps.google.com just click on "my maps" and select the weather channel on the left. local tv station in georgia - channel 2 http://www.wsbtv.com/index.html state of emergency declared in atlanta city. listening to callers on WDUN - a 2nd person has reported a "green sky". is this an effect of tornadic thunderstorms?

  25. c4 news - official mentions that 350,000 people are going to be without water. for SEVEN DAYS MINIMUM... absolute minimum water cut off late this evening/early morning. <_< thats a LOT of people. torrential downpour in tewksbury ( john snow reporting)
