  1. Reasonably peaceful here as well, certainly nothing thats caused any issues, most of the action appeared to be to the north by quite a bit
  2. Cold, wet, dark, horrible. no sign of any snow
  3. Just watched a storm heading towards me on the radar, as son as it got close, it started to split
  4. Watched the squall front come towards my location earlier today, then as it approached it thinned out and almost broke in two, giving no more than a minute of interesting weather, and then soon after it cleared up, there appears to be some sort of blocker for interesting weather surrounding me The job helping put up an antenna was completed in the afternoon in glorious sunshine - and was only delayed " because of the rain" complete with being told " told you so" that this weather event was overhyped with nothing more than a stiff breeze bit of rain and a heavy shower ( the squall front)
  5. Imbain a similar, " it will only be a bit of wind, or a bit of a breeze - see you tomorrow" So tomorrows plans are as follows : set of at 9am, go to the house and help permanently fix a wifi antenna(ladders to the roof etc) go to the barn on the hilltop behind, (nothing but fields in between) and permanently fix second antenna, plus fix a leak in the roof. walk about 4 miles through fields and woods to a pub for lunch, walk back check the internet is working in the barn, and the wifi thing is aligned and working.. Apparently I'm worrying to much as this so called storm won't amount to anything but a bit of a breeze.
  6. Long time lurker on here. I'm due to be out and about tomorrow morning ( midlands area / Nottingham/Derby Leicester) and in a few exposed places ie hilltops, and possibly a rooftop, helping to put up an aerial/wifi thingy. been told to "take these warnings of doom with a pinch of salt as they never happen, see you tomorrow as planned at 9am, bring a coat as there may be a few rain showers"
  7. Will be surprised to see anything in the near future, there may be at best a few random flakes falling, which will amount to diddly squat. It was frosty at times and the frost did stick to the trees at one point which when a slight breeze picked up looked like snow falling, maybe this place will oneday get excitable about frosts. anyone know what happened to Mr Crazy snowfan?
  8. Another forecast source, East Midlands Airport: https://en.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/united-kingdom-ireland.php?icao=EGNX 30% chance of light snow from 11pm
  9. What event last week? it rained a bit and i think it was frosty on the odd occasion. Whenever snow is forecast, it almost always misses the Derby/Nottingham/Liecester/Burton on trent area
  10. No snow in the Burton area, just rain. people used to say it was the powerstations of willington/Drakelow nr Burton, Castle Donnington, and Ratcliffe on Soar that raised the air temperatures, all but one of those have long gone.
  11. dull dull dull, and still no storms this season at all, everything stayed well and truly to the south west. Looks like East Midlands Airport have a storm shield
  12. looks like another could have been event, with all the action being to the south-west again
  13. Radar looks interesting, however most of the action is well and truly to the south west, something of interest just to the west of Peterbourough, and possibly heading up to Loughborough/ Leicester. And something like a tongue coming out of France and licking the rear of East Anglia, although that appears to be breaking up. East midlands Airport forcast looks like we *may* see something http://en.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/united-kingdom-ireland.php?icao=EGNX
  14. Another user of Rain alarm here, the phone apps are worth installing
  15. Was expecting the weekends rain band to have some movement, but it just kept on going as if it was on a track, one band to the north, and another to the south-west, if you were under you must have got pasted, if you were between the streams, then nothing at al. The only noticeable thing was the amount of traffic heading into East Midlands airport overhead, and people rubbishing the met office/bbc weather warnings for being over the top again saying that they will be better off ignoring any warnings as its just another example of everything being to cautious
  16. Clouded over now, on what was a pleasantly sunny day, the rain that hit Ondon/the South east looks like its going to stay to the south, Coventry may get a few drops but not much more. for the rest of us it looks like staying as it did over the bank holiday weekend - Dry, glad i watered the garden on Saturday
  17. not in this part of the midlands, nothing more than 2.5 seconds of rain, sky went dark, heard a few very distant rumbles ( although that could have been east midlands airport just down the road) thena few drops of rain, before the sun came out
  18. So far no signs of any storms, anywhere. Hopefully the Midlands may see some action later to make up for yesterday which produced a few drops of rain for all of about a minute and no storms at all
  19. Any chances of anything today, to make up for the complete lack of any storms or rain yesterday?
  20. Overcast grey skies here, no storms or even any rain yesterday
  21. The met office has been full of weather warnings, yet again nothing, not one bit of thunder, not one drop of rain.
  22. Still absolutly nothing, need it to come north of leicester - just going out to water the garden
  23. All seems to be missing at the moment, slightly overcast, hazy sunshine not much else happening
  24. only if it moves from the blade of grass into something else, like a twig
