well, the GooFuS model moves the channel low further south by the looks of it, and it seems to be a bit further south with each run ......the way its going, If I lived in the Sahara Desert, I'd be getting rather excited and starting to ramp to my fellow camels

The GFS is crap
The GFS is great
It's a terrible model
Its the best model
It cant handle background signals
it's got a real handle on the background signals
Holy smokes, if I were the GFS watching this thread, I have to book in for a full frontal lobotomy as I've gone stark staring mad with all the bi-polar comments !
either ways, all models are firming up on cold & snow for some in the UK, bring it on !

Gfs is completely terrible even with all the background signals the UK can’t seem to grasp a cold spell safe to say winters in the UK are a thing of the past
Mods, sorry to pick out this individual post but its so indicative of how a thread can be easily derailed by broadbrush one liner posts with no evidence or analysis, just a throw-away negative comment

surprising amount of snowfall here..... I'd say 3-4 cms of fresh snow.....it is feeling a little milder outside now (althugh still cold) and a slight thaw has set in
-
even right near the coast here in south sunderland, there's been plenty of snow ( a good inch or 2)....local roads havent been gritted...I'm a courier so not risking me or my van today, its an ice rink out there ! .....just to add, be careful out there on pavements or if you're driving...already hearing reports on X of multiple incidents on the roads this morning

Anyways great charts this morning. Ecm continuing with the cold setup all the way to the unreliable.
Right I'm away to do some Christmas shopping!
those words cannot be banned, they're an integral part of the world famous NetWeather Winter Bingo game !

Naaa we’ve had so many this summer already. I couldn’t handle another
I must admit, now in my 4th year oop north, and this is the first year that we've actually had some decent storm action, several plume type storms, as opposed to cloud-fart showers skirting the north seas coast...in fact a couple of real monsters that would have been impressed me whilst I was living in Wiltshire !

there are few certanties in life.... we're born, we die, we pay taxes.....oops, almost forgot the main one....alderc & Azazel having a good old moan in the storm thread
c'mon lads, cheer up and think positive !
My sis phoned me earlier, thunder & vivid lightning off & on pretty much since 1am down in Brixham !- 8

still some distant flashes from the train of cells near redcar heading out to sea....and I reckon still a risk of elevated storms developing & drifting NE towards the NE over the next few hours
