small scale circulation over Wilts as mentioned earlier in the thread.....still snowing steadily here but hints of slight thawing.....I'm wondering if slightly less cold upper air is being dragged from the SE into the circulation

You know it's a decent event when your sat on the downstairs lav having a good download, you have the window cracked open a tad to let out potential nasty whiffs, and you then come out of said lav with snowflakes on your head!! lol

Met office Severe Milk & Bread Shortage Warning - Red Alert
Chief Forecasters Assesment:
Outbreaks of panic milk and bread buying, intermittent at first is forecasted to quickly develop in situ this morning becoming widespread during the afternoon period...Up to 5-10 crates per hour of Milk are expected to disappear locally from local Tesco's with 20-30 in more highly populated areas

oragraphic ppn was my enemy yesterday, today it's my friend, as ppn is being blown in from the north/NE, relatively flat ground to the north and NE of wootton bassett/swindon and then the marlbrough down where I am, ppn literally developing in situ

calling it a night.....the SE to NW flow of ppn has destroyed any chance of snow here tonight....oragraphic ppn at its best/worst....good luck to everyone

I'd imagine any thawing under the snow band will be negated as grounds temps drop below 0C as nightfall approaches....still more snow wrapping around this circulation on developing from oragraphic forcing over North/East facing hills
