  2. well radar shows the northern edge (over p'boro) intensifying slightly and turning more and more to snow
  3. don't worry TEITS the band is going to have a sudden rush of blood about 6.30 and push over us giving us a lovely top up after what has been the coldest day for a very long time for me.
  4. it was -4.5 here in bourne at 8 oclock this morning now -1, main band heading this way in next hour or two so will hopefully get a ncie top up.
  5. the morning after the day before, and what a day! more to come tonight so this could officially be the most snow iv ever seen or remembered after tonight. heres a few more pics. my cats first ever outing haha! and some might large icicles!
  6. the morning after the day before, and what a day! more to come tonight so this could officially be the most snow iv ever remembered if it comes off. heres a few more pics. my cats first ever outing haha!
  7. a few pics to wet your tastebuds, some from dinner, some from half hour ago. about 4 and a half inches now on roads and paths. we wait years for proper snowfall and we get it twice in one year (feb!) brilliant!

  9. Pictures coming soon. over 4 inches now on paths/roads and still chucking it down here in bourne at the moment and has been for over an hour. seems to be that line of showers passing through above the wash directly hitting us and 4 miles down the road where my girlfriend lives they haven't seen anything since 2 o clock.

  11. wahey! our first shower in bourne since the roads froze over about 4 o clock! the winds have picked up to an incredible strength howling through the door too!
  12. this is about as close as we have come all day...most of the threatening clouds seem to have stayed just south of here towards the peterborough/cambridge area.
  13. it would have been bout half 3-4 o'clock he was coming home.
  14. here is a picture from across the fields. it is the edge of the storm that hit cambridge this morning.
  15. what time was that tornado reported because my dad thought he saw one in his rear view mirror when driving back from cambridge to bourne this afternoon...he said the storm this morning was one of the best in his life.
  16. this is incredibly heavy wet snow. as you can see by my pic the rain melted a good part of last weeks snow before tonights even turned. this was taken right outside my door. i'd be crazy to go out in it haha! oh yeah...and the dogs were kind enough to spend all week playing and compacting it
  17. its now officially turned to heavy snow on the lincs/cambs border. ha i would take a picture of our snowman from thursday but the flash might wake the neighbours. hes taken a bit of a battering with the elements tonight.
  18. TEITS where abouts near peterborough are you? its still just absolutely bucketing it down with rain here. the snow from last monday-thursday is taking an age to melt though.
  19. certainly another good looking snow event...im just hoping as well as tomorrow that the low on monday night comes far enough north to tickle us
  20. this week has been great in my eyes. for the first time in my life (that i can remember) we have had snow lying for practically a whole week. we've still got a good 4 inches in most places now with more expected tomorrow after a severe frost tonight. keep topping us up a few inches every couple of days and ill be satisfied
  21. im on the lincolnshire cambridgeshire borderline and after the performance contrast between gfs pptn 12 hours out and bbc forecasts i know which one i shall be believing. in my opinion beeb have got 3 out of 3 events wrong for my area so far this week with regard to snowfall totals and duration. can't see the heavy stuff stretching this far however wouldn't be surprised if we get a nice fluffy layer on top of last nights snow
  22. the gfs has been showing on every run today that this precipitation will be further north/west than the bbc so for an idea of its track it may be worth a glance. it never really was a snow event for the SE
  23. it all seems to be heading further north than the bbc forecasts show, also the gfs pretty much sticking to its guns with where the precipitations going to hit. thats the last three runs its kept it in the same area. the fresh stuff would look nice on top of our current 5 inches
