Aren't they still trying to repair that collider in Switzerland? It was supposed to suck us into a black hole but only managed to make a black hole in the world economies before it broke down.

There is so much RUBBISH on the internet and You tube at the moment about 2012 and how everything will end...blagh..blagh. They are even bringing out a film about it for goodness sake! The only thing that will happen in 2012 is that the sun will come up and go down again and it will only be another 4 days until Xmas, then if the world does end we will all be too pi**ed and stuffed to care! There may be problems with electricals and computers so i would be taking some hard copies of everything for safe keeping just in case

They are being a bit premature? There may be WORSE weather in the next few weeks! :lol:

Maybe we should re-name this thread "Snowmelt watch". Most of our snow is going and the sun this morning felt really warm. Huge puddles of water everywhere. Gonna be horribly icy in the morning!

Over an inch of snow here and all the stuff that melted earlier has been regained. If you want to see it just come up OR down the M5 and get off at Falfield. So much snow the sky is glowing white! Not since this since 1982!

Lots of heavy snow here 57m asl. Sticking to wet cars, wet road, vertical surfaces......EVERYTHING! temp is now 1.1c. Must be pretty bad higher up in the Cotswolds.

Starting to sleet here and the temp is 2.1c. The edge of the Cotswolds to my East is going "fuzzy" which usually means snow!

It was chaos in our local Morrisons this morning, loads of people stocking up. Anyone would think there was some bad weather coming The staff had never seen it so busy on a Monday morning!

Do you think that they will put a warning up on TV to tell people in the worst hit areas DO NOT GO OUT!! I'm sure they used to put up warnings back in the 1980's and they would interupt right in the middle of popular programes to make sure people saw it!

It's snowing here and the temp is 1.7c But it's very wet and everything is thawing fast.

Oh no! not more snow :lol: I only just managed to get the car out of the estate this afternoon, had to dig it out! I'm supposed to go up to the pre-school on Monday to dig a path through the snow, won't bother if its going to snow on top Is it supposed to turn to rain soon after though?

Does anyone know what we are going to get next week. More snow or is it just going to rain and rain and rain?

I'm not bored of the snow! I'm loving it so much i'm out more than the kids Having a great time teaching them how to make the perfect snowman, how to make jumps for the sledge and how to make igloos, feel like an 8yr old again. Not moved the car for 3 days (would have to dig it out) but we have a village shop down on the main road and we have to walk 1 mile to get there but we take pictures along the way so we can look back on this time.

I can report that it is a blizzard out there! Been out with the ruler and it is almost 19cm! Some people are trying to drive out of the estate but the snow is pilling up under the front wheels. Only 4x4 vehicles are moving. Wish i had a skiddo Its getting serious though, running out of milk and bread!

Heavier snow, temp now 0.8c and steady. I want to see green grass! Too much snow! Who wants it?

It's snowing again! This is a VERY interesting winter. Will we be talking about this one for years to come or will they get worse and worse? Its so exiting!

WOW! WOW! We've got 12 cm of snow here! Never seen so much snow and its starting to chuck it down again. School is DEFINATELY closed today! No buses running in S.Gloucs. A few cars on the main road but MUCH quieter than usual. Its going to take days to get rid of this snow but make the most of it today. Might not get this kind of snowfall for another 18yrs! But then could it be the start of a trend of cold winters?

Really cold out here 1.4c with a stiff N.E wind. Can almost smell the snow in the air, but nothing falling yet. I won't be able to sleep tonight as i had to decide in the morning wether or not our pre-school opens!

How do you think my area will fare? Will we get snow or just the edge of it? My daughter wants the school to close tomorrow so she can enjoy it!

What is the latest news on the severe weather for Thurs/Fri? I need to know as i've got to advise parents whether or not their pre-school will be open or not. Already have to close for tomorrow due to black ice and our playground is on a slope so you can imagine the carnage. Do i tell them the school will be closed Friday as well??

What??? I go away from the forum for just a few hours and a blizzard dares to sneak up on us for Thursday! :huh: OMG! is it going to be really bad, worse than the S.E???

Glad everyone in Cardiff is getting their snow at last! Patience has its own rewards :lol:
