British Summer Time has begun, but unsettled weather lingers. It's not all doom and gloom, though, as there will be some sunnier and drier weather on offer during the remainder of the Easter Weekend.

The UK's weather remains in a wet rut, but Easter weekend promises something of a break. Expect a mix of sunshine and scattered showers, with drier periods offering a chance to enjoy the holiday. A settled pattern remains elusive, though, with more rain to come next week.

Yesterday saw everything but the kitchen sink thrown at us, with snow, large hail, gales, thunder & lightning. Today sees more sunshine but still windy with some sharp showers. Fortunately the weather looks to calm down over the weekend, with fewer showers, lighter winds and turning warmer.

Low Nelson is throwing wind and rain at the UK before it impacts mainland Spain at Easter. Wild condtions in the English Channel, and more rain and lightning here on Thursday.

Spells of rain or showers with sunshine in between affecting most areas today, snow over northern hills. Storm Nelson arrives tomorrow, bringing gales to southern coasts and windy elsewhere with further showers. Showers and wind easing somewhat into the Easter Weekend.

The next few days will bring rain, hefty showers and gusty winds with a cool feel in the air. Heading into the long weekend, things improve a bit but it's not completely dry.

More wet weather is on the way, affecting much of the country until Wednesday. Though temperatures remain mild for now, a short-lived colder spell next weekend could bring frost risks and perhaps even some snow.

The changeable weather continues. Expect bursts of rain and a brisk wind, with only glimpses of sunshine as we end the weekend and move into the start of the new working week.

March has started cool after a very mild February. This pattern holds until Tuesday, and then things get uncertain with some models bringing milder air from the southwest; others aren't so keen, though.

A blustery sometimes unsettled weekend. There will be fair, even brighter spells but this is not reliable weather, a shower could appear.

High pressure over Scandinavia will keep most dry rest of this week, best of the sunshine in the west and the south tomorrow too. Low pressure moving in to the SW over the weekend will spread rain or showers across England and Wales.

Out of the breeze this weekend, it will feel okay in the south but cold air remains in the north, especially chilly in the east wind. Six Nations weather too.

February was mild and wet, particularly for southern Britain and the ground is sodden. There are signs of a drier March, perhaps colder later on. This week will see drier days.
