Some showers passing through today then Storm Agnes moves in towards the northwest on Wednesday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to north and west.

The UK Met Office has named a midweek low, Storm Agnes. This is the first named storm of this autumn and has the potential to bring wild conditions with impactful winds, heavy rain and the risk of flooding.

It's looking more and more likely that we could see a 'named' storm arrive on Wednesday, bringing severe gales across the west and gales elsewhere along with a spell of heavy rain. Breezy with some rain or showers for many before then.

We've had heavy rain midweek thanks to the remnants of one Atlantic hurricane. Hurricane Nigel is transitioning out in the Atlantic but will bring heavy rain by Sunday, for parts of the UK and warmer air.

We have wind and rain warnings for midweek from the remnants of Hurricane Lee with the risk of flooding and a wild night for NW Scotland. Ex-Hurricane Nigel will arrive for the end of the weekend
