  1. Been crap here as well, and I'm very much enjoying it. It's a pleasure to have not sweated going about daily life, except when playing sport. I don't care what happens now, summer is going to be half way through before anything remotely hot occurs, and the days are rapidly getting shorter. I think the 'majority' have had a crap month, of course there are regional variations, but lets get real shall we. 15c at night, does not a wonderful month make it. Perhaps taking rainfall totals, and total hours sunshine might give a more accurate reflection....
  2. Excuse my ignorance, but I assume that this is a good thing, in that it will be one piece in the puzzle of helping us to a better winter (i.e., potentially cold and snowy?) Thanks, rib.
  3. Blimey, thats it then, 'the truth'. There are so many counter-arguments and counter-claims that can be made against this, indeed SB has already given you one. But I sense in reality, someone is doing a bit of fishing......
  4. Aberdeen 7th November Inverness 15th November
  5. It's all down to personal opinion. I hate hot weather, but I don't call 25C hot, unless you are talking about night time temps.
  6. Hilarious Does all depend on your own perspective, but it has been remarkably wet so far, and would'nt be in the least surprised if there's plenty more wet to come, and very few sustained hot spells.
  7. Hi Tamara, Paul, I hope so. Things further north seem much more encouraging. I am also enjoying the start to summer so far. Maybe things will be slightly different this year, time will tell.....
  8. Sad I may be, but it's amazing how a couple of sentences bring a smile to my face! Keep up the good work.
  9. Well it's clearly going to be above average, but on the plus side for me we have had considerably above average rainfall, Will be interesting to see the final stats.
  10. May well be warm, although not as warm as last year. I think it's going to be rather wet personally, just a hunch.
  11. LOL, good on you Mondy, balls of steel! If you say black some will always say white, even if presented with irrefutable evidence, some would argue their point. The unstoppable media driven, GW freight train that was gathering speed seems to have got a buckle in the tracks! Seems to have got a few peoples backs up. Even if everything in the program could be dismissed out of hand, which I don't believe it can, at the very least it has made the average Joe on the street stop and pause for thought - that can never be a bad thing.
  12. I don't deny these are also some of the reasons, but why don't they just wipe out third world debt - because they don't want them to develop, at the very least not too quickly anyway. Not suggesting GW is the only reason, but many have alluded to it when talking for example about the number of coal fired power stations going up in China at the moment.
  13. Ah, the first dismissive comment. The comment on the developing world is a matter of opinion, just ask Mr. Geldof. The stuff about MWP and LIA is actually in the IPCC report, so I'm not sure what you take issue with. But I fully expect some to rubbish the program in it's entirety.
  14. Because most people are only aware of the hysteria with regard to global warming, mainly driven by the media, which unfortunately is where the masses get their information. For once, they are going to be presented with the other side of the argument. While I am fully aware of arguments against global warming, many others are not - it's about time something like this was shown, maybe a few of the sheep will stop and pause for thought. Good on them.
  15. Well most weather agencies have already stated that any snow will be followed by rain in the south, so it won't last, only above 700 ft will it last. So didn't take a genius to work out the above.
  16. So where's west? I just wondered how far south his no snowfall prediction spreads, as parts of suffolk, such as Framlingham and Saxmundham have had significant, lying snowfall today. Or is that not far south enough....
  17. Oh good grief, so all the professional forecasters I have been watching today must have it wrong? They seem to be suggesting that it's not a case of if, but where.....
  18. Far from spring like here, was frosty till around 10.30, fog has lingered all day making it feel very cold indeed.
  19. Isn't it only the sixth warmest since 1850 though?
  20. I thought the guy on question time this week was very brave. When he suggested that the scientific community is still very much divided on the causes of global warming (uk global warming taxes were being discussed), the audience jeered and laughed at him. Fair play to him for standing up and having the balls to speak the truth, however untrendy that may be at the moment.
  21. Hi West, yep going to the top via the Machame route - 6 days on the mountain, 5 up 1 down. If I don't suffer too much with altitude sickness anyway! Thanks, maybe I can bring a taste of winter back!
  22. Indeed, I hope to get my own small piece of heaven atop Kilimanjaro next week - should give me a snow fix anyway!
  23. A good post indeed (there I said it!) I don't have the technical expertise to speculate I'm afraid. However, while I cannot deny that there has been a warming trend, helped in part by man. I believe that (rightly or wrongly) that it is all part of the natural cycle of things, and mother nature will do her thing - I expect it will be a very different picture in 20 years. Sorry I can't back any of that up, just my opinion. Cheers, rib.
  24. You need to read what carinth and the others actually posted dawlish, not just post along the lines of your own agenda. What they say in their posts is what is going/beginning to happen, the clues are words like 'begining' and 'continue'. You have responded to what was actually posted as usual. Someone says cold, you say hot. You seem to want to get GW into every thread too. I guess on this occasion I have taken your bait, and you have achieved your aim...... I must exercise greater self discipline! Absolutely not! Same record every autumn/winter... or in some cases all year!
