  1. yep rob is the best, but i still don't get the snow line unless you live in the far north and on high ground. maybe rob knows something that we don't
  2. who writes the bbc outlook, that last line about snow must be a joke, or a windup
  3. in my location we benefited from that one off pseudo thames streamer a couple of weeks ago or so. aside from that its been very dry, and looks like it will remain so for a while
  4. indeed. autumn is rushing towards scandanavia.
  5. a beautiful day in london, after a chilly start
  6. whatever the forecast, all i know is that the press office will not be making a gimmick out of their press release topline this time. the "bbq summer" was a very bad idea. the main issue i have with these lrf's is that they treat the uk as if it was a country like luxembourg ie a country 60 miles long. i think it's obvious that the uk is a bit bigger. this summer has shown there can be a massive north south or morelike nw/se divide. ok, i realise that lrf's are a bit of punt, but there should be a nod at recognising regionality. shetland may just have a different winter than jersey.
  7. they wont go for a barbeque winter, that's for sure
  8. i experienced red snow once. it was in the alps, and it was very odd to look at. apparently it was saharan sand. red rain has happenend a few times in the uk as far as i know, again courtesy of the sahara and a southerly wind
  9. heard a distant rumble earlier, but looking at the radar, i'm too far west to get the real thundery action at the moment
  10. all sorts of convection over london at the momement, and its so damn muggy
  11. just to ask again, i find the site massively slow and frustrating, and am wondering if its because i'm on an internet stick rather than broadband. having said that i dont have any other problems with other sites. it's only been really bad since the site was updated, and i'm wondering if all the ads are slowing it for me. any ideas gratefully received. cheers
  12. i think fred is remarkable in its defiance but its whats behind fred in the atlantic that is catching my eye. i think we may have a Grace. any thoughts from the experts?
  13. just hazy and muggy in london, a little unseasonal. would love a sharp shower/storm but i think its very unlikely
  14. nondescript weather in london. bright, light breeze, mildish
  15. fred looks like it's really getting going again. lots of convection. wonder what the noaa will make of fred in their next advisory. it is such a quiet season overall, so different from recent years
  16. the heating wont be on until november. i hate heating, especially at night, i just wear a few layers - cheaper and more environmentally friendly
  17. stopped raining for a while in my bit of london, but now moderate rain, odd because it doesnt look moderate on the radar. anyway 2 minutes away from the end of the wettest day in the capital for many days!
  18. way too early for heating. temps perfect at the moment, despite the wind and rain
  19. brisk wind, scudding clouds. mild, bright and cheery. let's face it its friday so everyone have a good weekend!
  20. odds on a green christmas, unless you're carving the turkey in cairngorm. but let's face it, it's september. do we have any idea what the weather will be like on hallow'een let alone christmas?
  21. thought as much. i think rob likes exciting weather generally, whether it be a blizzard or a thunderstorm. in any case his presentation is the superior of all the forecasters.
  22. with you all the way mate! rob rules, and yes, i think he's a snow lover
  23. let's face it sir rob is the king. can't stand corbett, and indifferent about thomasz.
