  1. Just started raining here moderately. Russ
  2. My spell check auto corrected your quote.....W/nellys Not sure if this is Jan or Feb 1991, I took it from my roof window at that time it shows the cliff and shore from Shanklin towards Sandown. It was below freezing all day when i took it, i had a wood burner in that room(!) It was roaring, that's what kept the snow of my roof. We had a burst pipe which i had just mended, spotted whilst still frozen, thank god i was thawing the rest The beach had a good few inches of snow, it was my first experience of snow next the sea as i had never lived near it before, quite surreal at the time
  3. I was at my grans in Wythenshawe, Manchester for the 76, father took us for a drive to see the destruction, which i remember was particularly bad by Manchester air port tunnel road, large dead elms blown all over the place. i was in Reculver, Kent, for the 87, that was the best storm i have been in up to now. For the 1990 storm i crossed the Solent for the first time on the 24rd Jan, the next few days were memorable, watching the sea rough as you like, trees all over the place, caravans likewise. Nowt has touched any of them since Russ

  10. In an attempt to prompt the thunderstorm of a lifetime and missing out putting it in the competition Here is my 3rd entry I think the Scots are very lucky people, if you like clear air and scenery, like me that is, for some its too quiet Sun rise at Nairn. Oh god i just noticed the con trail and i just said about clear air

  19. Seal pups shouldn't be allowed, it's not fair, they are just too cute
  20. I remember having a few large old trees to clear up and loads of branches, the worst missed us though. The reason i remember is that it was so soon after Christmas, sort of New Year with a bang St catherines Lighthouse on the Isle of Wight got 120mph, the UK's highest wind speed, so i have always been told by the people down here, i moved here in 1990. I was in Kent when the 87 came, it was so cool well warm actually <_<
  21. They are very nice Louby, the sort people think, you have to go on holiday for
  22. Maybe this is one hurricane too many for the low to absorb,a sort of hurricane indigestion. Your theory sounds like fun GW I can't wait to see the result if your right
