  1. Cheers mate - im so happy for everyone else, but literally there must be a very small green zone in the whole of northern england where I am now where there is no lying snow. Places that I consider ' genuinely snowless' ie/ Lancaster, Preston, Blackpool have all had decent accumulations over the last few days. What are reports from others in Lakes/Cumbria?
  2. So while it appears that everyone here has had a good accumulation of snow over the last few days it would appear that I am now the only one not to see any accumulations of snow, as there are reports of depths of 4 inches in northern lakes (roughly 15-20 miles north?) Today we have seen light snowfall with no accumulations - and now we have rainfall. As a lover of winter and snow I am absolutely gutted.
  3. Just wondering how others in the Lake District are doing? Had light now all day, no accumulations and if anything the little snowcover that was in fields etc has started to thaw. It seems that once again we have missed out. Even snowless areas like Blackpool and Lancaster have had some snow. Why is this happening again?
  4. Think I'm done with this site for now guys. No chance of any significant snow for my area (South Lakeland) so I'm done. We've missed out so much and destined for f' all any time soon. All the best, Barmada Casten
  5. I really liked your post you have worded my thoughts to a tee. Can't help but feel dissappointed and isolated right now.
  6. Cheers mate. Well I would say areas hit by the snow in the last 24 hours will probably see some again on Monday but not as much and with less intensity. All of the north-west with the exception of Cumbria and the Lakes will see maybe 1 or 2 cm of snow again.
  7. Could you be more specific with your location? PM me if you want.
  8. Thanks for the positives mate but even if it did it would not amount to much at all. We've missed out on so much now, its too late.
  9. Great post mate it really has been a massive anti-climax. Makes it worse though when it seems like everywhere else is getting it but you. I know about the south-west not getting any but what do you expect down there!! We really have been unlucky.
  10. Been here before. I don't pay much attention to models for the reason as to whats happened the last few days. Waking up on the day of 'impact' to find out 'nailed on snow' for my location was never going to come was dissappointing beyond belief. I have'nt visited the models thread for 48 hours just reading this board to see how others in the nw are doing. I'm not watching the news either. Thats a lesson I sure have learnt. Another $hit winter.
  11. THERES PARTS OF THE NORTH_WEST THAT STILL HAVE'NT HAD THEIR 'TURN' Doubtful. Been shocking so far eh??
  12. Absolutely dreadful for me so far. Nothing. Could anyone give me their views on what south Laakeland may get over the next few days coz I see no snow potential whatsoever bar the odd minor flurry. Thanks Barmada
  13. Well 5 hours of the most extreme lightest snow I have ever witnessed. So light that there is barely any accumulation on the ground - as if there has been a moderate frost. Can't explain how dissappointed I am right now - for days I read forecasts here in the Lakes of heavy continuous snowfall giving huge depths not seen in years - only to get let down with this cr@p. But I've been here so many times before, and will do again. I Why I get so bothered I don't know it's so pathetic. All the best to everyone else though...
  14. Well of course at higher levels there is plenty of snow - the Lakes tends to get minimal amounts of snow, as in a cm or two, and this is what it will get in next 48 hours if lucky whilst many other parts get much much more. In the late 2010 event, I was in Lakeland and we got a couple of inches of snowfall I was happy but when I found out back home in Grr Manc there was 8 inches in one of the greatest falls for many years I was gutted. So in summary, yes the Lakes, Cumbria etc may get some snow but it will be nowhere near the amount everyone else gets.
  15. I hope your right but I think your completely wrong. Especially for those in N.Lancs/Lakes/Cumbria.
  16. Theres been many of them, but this has got to be one of the biggest anti-climaxes in net-weather history!!
  17. Charlie Slaters forecast just now on north west news was simply a disgrace. Lasted 30 seconds and barely wen't into any detail. Either a lack of confidence in the data or just generally poor forecasting.
  18. The contrast between the bbc forecast ive just seen and the one from yesterday night is horrific. Almost as though the snowfall is avoiding us. Looks like everywhere else in the country will get some though. THATS BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF US WONT
  19. So after spending a good week on this site, reading this thread looking forward to a huge regional snowstorm only to wake up this morning to find out that the forecast has changed for me and I will miss out again is so disappointing. Essentially I feel as though I have wasted my time constantly reading the boards tonly to have been let down, at the last minute again. All the best to you guys who get it, for the great threads etc. All the best, Barmada Casten
  20. Spent the last week looking forward to a 'nailed on, mega snow event' to only see, 12 hours before, the whole event will now completely miss me. It happens repeatedly, tirelessly, again and again, every winter - I feel physically sick right now.
  21. So as I said North Lancs and Cumbria have been screwed. I genuinly cannot believe this
