  1. I'm sure we had the exact same last night following the pub run - which always plays up. Don't pay any attention to it. What is for sure is snow is coming to our region, depths and exact locations will not be know until literally hours before the event. OK?
  2. Anyone got any info on what things will be like for Lake District as I may be in south Lakes during the snow?
  3. Yeah you are agreeing with me there mate. Windermere will see snow, just not as much as everyone else!!
  4. Just my opinion that Cumbria and the Lakes will see some snow but nowhere as much as the rest of the region as it is right on the edge of the snowfall, whereas the rest of the region is right in the firing line of the front. Does anybody agree?
  5. I feel that Cumbria, the Lake District and North Lancs will either see none, or very liittle from this event as it appears to be favouring central/south of the region - just wondering if anyone agreed with me?
  6. Haha I think we've all been exhibiting strange behaviours of sorts. Ive just eaten 24 seafood sticks in quick concession without even realising. All washed down with 1.5 litres of dandelion and burdock I now feel rather sick
  7. Sleep well mate, you deserve it. Its been a rather long day!!
  8. Gone t*ts up for prople in north of region - ie/ Lake District, Cumbria, N. Lancs
  9. What you having Jan? Arctic roll - or maybe baked alaska
  10. At the moment the potential for heavy, proper snowfall on fri/sat/sun looks much more promising for the region and would by far eclipse what we've seen last 24 hours.
  11. Feeble, light, wet snow, barely settling. Been doing it for about 2 hours. May as well be rain - generally couldn't care less anymore
  12. Mark my words, one day, one day, the north-west will be on the premium end of a series of mega-polar lows that feed in from the Irish Sea and brings a foot of snow even to low levels across the region, with snow cover lasting for days on end!!!
  13. Anioher last minute downgrade - same old story every single year. simply pathetic. Suprised? Not any more.
  14. I think the Lake District will do well, particular Windermere/Ambleside area.
  15. how are things looking for the nw after Monday........?
  16. Hi guys, So on what scale is this forecasting cold snap - are we talking cold/snow conditions on a level not seen for many-a-year. Hope you are well, Thanks BC
  17. I think the general concencus is that this is going to be pretty much a winter without any significant cold/snowy spells. Seems to be the growing trend. Some great, in-depth posts on here that explain that very well. Thanks. BC.
  18. Could some of the other members explain further what an ssw event is, what factors are pointing to this and indeed what areas could be affected. Many thanks, BC
  19. flights definetely on today, seen 14 passenger jets, 3 cargo carriers, and 4 privates today. Seems to have recended in the last couple of hours but expect more later. Ocean activity at roughly 70% as well, commercial shipping nu,bers functioning at 90%.
  20. Well just the one day of transient snowfall which brought about 1/2 inches - earlier in the month - and thats all im probably going to get. To be fair I had a feeling winter would be like this - thats why I went out in the early hours of the morning and lapped it up. This mild, grey, weat weather is frankly depressing - but supposed we'l have to get used to it.
  21. so the trend continues for mild, wet weather for the foreseeable future. I have noticed a few people are clutching straws at a mid-jan cold event - this is highly unlikely guys - this may go down as one of the mildeest, wettest winters ever - an absolute hell for snow lovers. How is everyone anyway??? Barmada Casten
