    Just started snowing heavily now, ground quite damp so I doubt it will settle.

    The Baltic Sea is shallow in comparision to most other seas and oceans and therefore more susceptible to temperatures above the surface, i.e it warms and cools quicker.

    Wet snow has been falling here in Gateshead for the past 1/2 hour.

    Been up into the North Pennines today. There was a lot of snow up there, it was piled up above the car at the sides of the road. I even managed to get stuck in a drift! If you are thinking about heading up to the hills, be prepared because the conditions can change very quickly. If you are travelling over high routes make sure you take a spade and some food supplies as there is some severe drifting taking place which can easily and quickly engulf the roads.

    Just had a little giggle to myself there. My Grandparents live close to the golf club.

    Looking over towards Newcastle I can see a huge mass of black clouds. More snow looks to be on the way. My Grandparents live in Woodham quite close to you, usually they get a bit more than me. I think its because it may be a little higher. I am fairly happy now because I wasn't expecting much last night.

    While driving back from Woodham Golf Club I encountered a couple of heavy snow showers. The showers were very localised however. There was near blizzard conditions up at Eighton Bank but further down where I live it was sunny. I haven't seen any lying snow but while on the course there was some ice pellets on the greens.
