SE and East Anglia general weather discussion 03/03/2018 onwards

Well I'm back from work in one piece. Glad I didn't pack the thermals away. Light snow most of the morning with a heavy blizzard like burst from about 8.30-9am. Ended up looking like a snowman. I've only seen one gritter about all day and that was one of my customers son who decided he would grit his road....lol -

I'm off to bed as got to be up for work at 4. Hopefully we'll all get to see a bit of the white stuff, just wish it would hold off until 2pm as it would be my worst nightmare to be stuck at work for a minute longer than I have to be. -

What a glorious day it was today. Nearly had to take my jacket off out on delivery, ended up just unzipping it as I didn't want to look totally crazy like my colleagues who are still wearing shorts. Even made time to chat to some of my customers out in the sunshine. Can't believe how much its going to change in less then 12 hours. Tomorrow should make an interesting day at work and travelling home -
This week has been great. I've enjoyed it but now back to reality as soon as it thaws. Tomorrow I'm going to have 6 days worth of mail to deliver, almost every house on my delivery (650)

Well that was an interesting morning, rain, freezing rain, sleet and now snow. Was let out of work early due to having to travel home. As I came off the M20 J9 the snow started and its laying already.
-
I'm going to be heading up the M20 to Maidstone shortly. Certainly not looking forward to the journey this morning due to the wind, it woke me up before my alarm went off this morning
-
Looks like its just starting here in Ashford, can see a few largish flakes blowing about in the wind.
-
Well I made it to work in Maidstone at 6am this morning. Started having a few flurries while I was on the M20 and it snowed quite heavily between 8-9. Ended up going out delivering to a few roads which was quite a challenge. Same again tomorrow assuming I can make it in. Photo is near Pilgrims Way in Harrietsham

Wish me luck I'm just leaving for work. Only driving up to Maidstone from Ashford but who knows what the conditions could be like if that band hits
-
Just been on the phone to my mum who lives in St. Claud, not far from Cognac. She was watching their weather whilst on the phone and the French Met seem to have the low heading north but on a track that will include here in the SE
-
Light snow in Ashford. Back to work tomorrow but getting a bit concerned about driving up to Maidstone at 5am due to the ice. May have to give it a miss and go to the local office
-
I've been asking Alexa about the snow. Apparently I've a 68% chance of snow tomorrow in Ashford and it'll be about 2.2cm.
-
The sky is clear as anything but its snowing very lightly. Whats that all about? and no its not blowing off the roof or anything.
-
Didn't get any extra snow here in Ashford overnight. The temp has certainly plummeted.Just noticed my neighbour has come home after leaving for work at 5 so the roads must be treacherous as I've never known him to take a day off.

After the big thaw this afternoon everything is now covered again. Location:Ashford 28130622_171939796783419_8023543141413945344_n.mp4

I think you may be right. Just looked again and the road is completely covered in 5 mins. Not bad considering its not that heavy atm
-
Just started again in Ashford. We had a big thaw earlier and I doubt we'll get a covering again like last night.
-
I also noticed the BBC 6.25 forecast that they have moved Thursdays/Fridays potential event West. So according to them no snow.
-
Still having a few light flurries here in Ashford but I am noticing the laying stuff is starting to thaw out now which is surprising considering how cold it is.
-
My son just sent me this of the A274 Sutton Road in Maidstone. Nice to see my employers are still getting the mail to the delivery offices
-
Not as much as I expected but still enough to make things awkward. Glad I haven't got to go to work until Thursday
