LIghts flashing here in Rochester. Power cut to come?
Mine too. Uh oh!

Rumble of thunder in the distance. Here's hoping for a proper storm

Well, I've been lurking here all evening on the hope of snow. I've just found out that I'm going to meet Tim Sherwood for breakfast in London tomorrow morning, so would be grateful if it could not snow between Medway and Maidstone (for car journey) and London Victoria (for Train)
-
Already in Medway, been snowing hard in Rochester for a couple of hours
-
Snowing hard in rochester

Kent police on twitter reporting that Hawkinge is now cut off from Folkestone - jackpot area do far for Kent so stay safe all down that way
-
I note the amber Met Office warning does not extend to Medway - wonder if that will change. Mind you, have some lovely snow on the ground and a fun packed journey home up Bluebell Hill, so quite happy!
-
As it seems fairly quiet here, I typed in my location as St Helier into the BBC weather. If we had a forecast like theirs for tomorrow, this forum would be in meltdown now!
-
Can I have a little snow shield just over my house, with some nice warm temperatures please? Have no heating or hot water and even worse, have had to cancel my birthday lunch tomorrow to wait in for British Gas
-
As Mcgaskill would say, "it's snowing like billyho' - in a massively marginal situation, height makes all the difference. There are loads of houses here, sounds like some of you should consider moving!
Save one for me - I'm coming over RIGHT NOW

..and made mine
Made mine too

Lovely pics Jo S, especially like the donkey - very cute

Just come back from walking the dog and there were plenty of children on those little plastic sled and two good sized snowmen in Copperfield
-
What about the depth of the snow?
Oh, the snow? She reckons dozens and dozens of Kentimetres!!
-
I see that Kaddy is going for 2-4 CM's for the south east tomorrow (just posted on Twitter)
-
Tom, my match was missing too but think I'm in the second half of the draw? I posted my massive snowfall total (0CM) earlier
By which I mean, I was in the second set of matches that were posted
-
Snow depth here is a dusting, so 0cm (although that must equate to a couple of Kentimetres)! Looking at an early cup exit here :-(
-
If the GFS is right, there could be 6 hours' heavy and persistent whingeing in areas west of Tunbridge Wells... With some isolated outbreaks further east...
Brilliant. The weather will do what it pleases, no matter what you say on here - this is NOT a direct line to Mother Nature!
-
Two locations I see on here often make me wonder how they are pronounced: Lyminge and Meopham, anyone able to enlighten me?

Limb (as in leg) inge (as in hinge) and meppum

Might need to stage a comeback of heroic proportions tomorrow. It's half time in the snow cup and I'm 5-0 down. Here's hoping for a storming second half, quite happy to lose 5-4 :-)
-
If you want to go to Ramsgate now you would be ok, the morning might not be so good due to the French snow god!
Well in that case, if the weather gods continue to deny us in Medway, I hope you guys get plenty :-)
-
Why is everyone looking at me
Fess up LOL! Seriously, how much snow do you have now? Hoping to get out of a trip to Ramsgate tomorrow!
-
Right, this is now an emergency. Who lost the key for the Medway snow shield? Was it Daniel, Halling or has one of those pesky kids from Thanet hidden (because we had snow in 2010 and therefore deserve no more) :-)

How strange! Also Rochester and although it is snowing nicely and has been for the last 45 mins, there is nothing on pavements and roads in my bit - although cars and grass getting a covering. Just shows how it can be so different
