  1. Morning everyone! Well, looks like the "amateurs" on here got it right and the "professionals" in media were wrong - for here anyway. None of the heavy snow on the local BBC forecast fell here overnight and it looks as if there is a thaw underway.

Very cloudy here - so maybe some snow en route but I can't see that we'll get anything like the 10-15 cm that the BBC have been forecasting for us.

  2. My marginal snow is still coming down - any snow is good snow as far as I'm concerned :)

I applaud all the forecasters on this site (amateur or otherwise). As others have said, it is all prediction and therefore, guesswork and it takes some bottle to put your thoughts on here in black and white, especially when some folk seem intent on throwing it back in your faces when it's not 100% right or not what they want to here.

I love looking at the posts on here and find the detail you folk give really impressive and interesting and I thank you ALL for taking the time and effort to answer stupid questions from us lamp post watchers.

These are for all of you  :yahoo:

  3. Well, Rob Mcelwee going for it for SE overnight and throughout tomorrow with fine but continual and drifting snow and into monday for most at some time! lol! Might that mean North Kent will finally get something worthwhile? lol!

Dunno where you are Snowfish but it's still snowing here in Rochester - very fine flakes still but plenty of them and still blowing horizontally in the wind. Probably had an inch or so fresh snow this evening (judging by me neighbours car - as he cleans his car the minute the snow stops)!

  4. Wheelie Bin lid, bit of rope through the hinge eyelets! Perfect! "For Sale" signs from estate agents work pretty well too!

    Any others?

Completely off topic - but in my youth, I once water-skied down the Medway on an old door- didn't stay dry for very long :shok:

In other news, IT IS SNOWING IN ROCHESTER - WOOP WOOP! Not much at all and very fine flakes but hey, I'll take anything at the moment!

  5. According to the net weather radar, it should have started snowing lightly in Gravesned, but theres nothing? Also checked with my friend further east in Cuxton (rochester) and they still haven't got anything. unknw.gif

Just pressed my face up to the window and I spied a flake or two! Can't say if this is falling out of the sky or fallen flakes being blown. Hope it's the start of something good!

  6. I've been staring so intently at my computer screen for so long hoping for good news for Medway, that by the time we actually get any snow, I think I'll probably be too blind to see it

What's Herne Bay like at the mo - hubby is due to play a gig there tomorrow and wants to cancel with enough notice if it is bad - any locals on who can tell me current conditions there and forecast for tomorrow?

    Cheers guys!
