  1. Cheers BT. OK then - Splishnchips reporting and showing pics of snow nr the fylde, yet n/w radar showing pure clear blue heavy rain on radar. Why isn't it pink?
  2. Question: Can a sleety mix still turn back to snow with evaporative cooling or is it just gone past that possibility now? Where are you mate?
  3. Wow wish I was back in st annes but it sounds likr kt eont last by ppls commrnts
  4. Heavy snow till 9 in Leyland, heavy sleet at home in St Annes. Heavy sleet - sounds so rubbish! Well at least I may be stranded in the snow for a bit. Sparkle and Fresh Prince - snowball fight?
  5. How will The Pogues help? Sorry! Light to moderate in Leyland atm but just floating around aimlessly.
  6. Showing sleet on Fylde coast. If this isn't rain will the main band be snow if it hits at all?
  7. Its half way between IOM and Lancs coast and still rain, so we'll see.
  8. Well that should mean more of a snowy sitation? It is bitterly cold - more so than any recent morning I think.
  9. Hard frost and solidly frozen puddles outside here on the coast. Ready to go with whatever now. Be happy for a few hours of snow, but not surprised if its a sleetfest!
  10. Last post of the day. Just checked on mod thread - v interesting comments this evening re latest output. Eg chio saying: There is a really strong signal for the Canadian vortex to regain strength west of Greenland - splitting away again from the Eurasion based Siberian vortex after a brief flirtation. This may hold the key to future height rises to the north of the UK. Also this deep in FI but its bringing lots of interest: http://forum.netweather.tv/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=157601 Dare I say it? Greeny High (and Norwegian High as it happens) Maybe...just maybe (GP over there always said February...)
  11. Eno's graphic was snow everywhere, but heyho 'Whatever..'...
  12. If that verifies the journey home from Leyland could be interesting. Nice to see the coastal areas are still part of the swansong.
  13. More recently March 12th 2006 here in St Annes it snowed a lot. I remember cos it was my son's birthday. It got sleety later but provided a lot of fum for a while.
  14. Sorry mate - someone should do a psychological study on why snow does so much for so many of us muppets!
  15. I always remember as a child waking up one night, looking out the window to see a lovely white blanket of snow everywhere, and gazing in awe before going back to bed with a smile on my face, dreaming of snowballs, sledging and snowmen and even a possible day off school. When I woke up I rushed to the window to see it simply raining, not a trace of white anywhere. Snow to rain events ever since take me back to that nightmarish snow-stealing exprerience. So, if it does snow and settle for more than an hour, I will be out with my kids, video, photos, the lot - cos it will prob be the last chance till next winter.
