  1. The cold will not move away and it will snow heavily in the whole NW until March. Edit: ...the 9th!
  2. ...but when you type in 'blackpool' it has light snow to rain. Inconsistent.
  3. Meto covering themselves I reckon. I genuinely hope that areas that have missed out get at least a few hours of mental snow before rain takes over. I've had a bit, more than I thought I would, pn Monday, so I hope SFZ and others get to experience a snowstorm.
  4. Eno: no real specifics re Friday - just 'snow becoming widespread' with massively wide snow graphic. Edit: always want to turn her name into a footy chant - "Eno Eno Eno....!" sorry, bored!
  5. Oh god I'm so sorry everyone! No more premature excitation I promise! Glad I didn't say red, would've been tracked down and eliminated!
  6. Lots of the NW in amber zone for Friday but last time that happened it was really a warning that bugger all was about to happen. Will prob be a massive sleetfest more likely than not! (certainly here anyway)
  7. In Fleetwood today. Its trying hard but melting on impact atm. Mind you on Mon St Annes had nearly 3cms and fleerwood nada so maybe more when I get home.
  8. In Fleetwood today v wet small flakes but might be better in St Annes. Didn't expect anything today!! Friday could be interesting but more inland. Be surprised if it snows much on the coast on the breakdown. Good luck to everyone else though.
  9. St Annes Seafront about 4pm today - calm, cold and clear - beautiful.
  10. What a great day. From next to nothing to 15 hrs of unforecast snow. Very very sorry for anyone who missed out, but I will be grateful for today's snow, and sharing the excitement with fellow NW regional members was a big part of it. Cheers guys. Might back off for a bit till the next round. Need to top up on mental snow-watch strength again! Hopefully won't be long.
  11. Lets get through the mild blip at the weekend then look fwd to a mega Greeny High through Feb.
  12. There is definitely a small feature developing in the Irish Sea. May be seeing things but I'm sure its growing.
  13. Blackpool Airport Dewpoint down from 1c to 0c - should help to ease the thawing and make any further snow stick. Temp at 1c but that's ok if DP stays down. Some heavy stuff coming towards the Fylde now.
  14. Really really heavy proper snow in St Annes at the moment. Thought I had rain earlier but it was graupel, which got heavy, and has now turned to proper heavy snow and in some areas is settling where it had started to thaw. Amazing being on the coast.
  15. Almost on the verge of rain now sadly. What flakes there are are v small and falling vertically - no floatyness left. Can hear it too. Its been good though, very good. Edit: WAIT - ITS SNOWGRAINS NOT RAIN. Its not over yet!
  16. Wonderful photos Ramp! Got massive flakes here now. Still on the wet side though while drips going on.
  17. Have to be honest - can't see the system tracking back towards us unless there's a change in movement in the next couple of hours. I'm just going off what I can see on the radar, but maybe I've not given it enough time yet.
  18. Totally agree. Have played back net/w radar images a few times and it seems echoes just are appearing - certainly not coming from a s/e track like earlier this morning. This is v interesting watching and a definition of nowcasting!!
  19. Throwing it down again in st annes. How if it isnt coming back? It was getting really light, now the echoes are pepping up again round the coast. Interesting.....
  20. Around SW Wales you can see the eastward rotation if you play back recent radar images, so it is there, but i think it needs to track further north before first before it turns into the NW. Very unscientifically put I know. Basically, it is possible, but time will tell. Anyone else any thoughts??
