  1. The 6z gfs shows a continuous flow of Arctic air into north Atlantic for the next 7 days ago. Should lead to some notable negative anomalies in the sea surface temperatures.
  2. I am trying to guess how that band of snow in the south and east Anglia is going to move. It seems to be edging northwestwards. Normally I would say that this is a recipe for a rainshadow for us but this is not a typical cold spell and snow has largerly survived the passage of the hills as we saw yesterday and so far today.
  3. Heaviest snow so far in the city centre. It has intensified in the last 20 minutes.
  4. Amazing scenes in Piccadilly with blizzard like conditions. Moderate to heavy snow falling while the strong wind blows the snow on the ground like sand!
  5. Only light snow now and looking at the radar the streamer has slowly edged a bit further north. There is some more activity further east so may continue to get flurries on and off.
  6. Oh no, the wind has picked up again and it is blowing away my balcony snow!
  7. Must have been amazing! I went twice but not in the winter so far.
  8. It is awesome to have complete cloud cover, snowfall and subzero temperatures at the same time! The kind of weather that Iceland gets in winter.
  9. I am glued to the window, I can't have enough of this!
  10. An extra cm would be nice but it depends on the streamer.
  11. OH SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! I went to the gym at 6pm under clear skies thinking that's it for the snow showers for the day, came out an hour later when the heavy snow shower was passing through. Beautifully heavy and also with the lighter wind it settled everywhere. Just checked the ECM and it keeps us proper cold till the end of the run. Feels like a miracle. I feel like playing the lotto tonight!
  12. Lucky you, i was tracking that shower for ages.
  13. The showers are getting close now but I think I will be in the gap.
  14. Looking east, I can see some nice towering cumulus in the distance.
  15. This is a warning they released today for today's streamer! Some better accuracy should be expected.
  16. It looks a bit too far north at the moment. Might just touch the southern tip.
  17. All eyes on those Lincolnshire... showers
