  1. Pressure 977mb & steady, temp 4.7 degC (lowest all night), humidity 77%. Wind SW 10mph. Currently clear and dry. There is that lovely yellowy pink colour in the eastern sky where the sun is about to rise.
  2. 6 degC here, getting dark now and cloud movement has veered from S/SSE to SSW. Wind about 18mph gusting to 29mph. Been dry all day and was rather pleasant and sunny up until mid afternoon when the clouds began to roll in. Pressure steady after a drop - currently 982mb. On another weathery note - I see the wintery conditions in Cairngorm at the weekend have claimed their first victims of the season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/6164422.stm Mind you - after looking at the models at the end of last week, wild horses wouldn't have got me up there at the weekend!
  3. Thundersnow 3rd March (a Friday morning) this year when we had a record amount of snow fall - the most for 40 years I think it was. There was a good 11-12 inches in my garden in Aberdeen city center that morning - after a few days of lying snow with melting during the day. http://www.metoffice.com/corporate/pressof...pr20060303.html The thunder felt like it was coming from under the ground, an amazing sensation, and the lightning was blinding. There were at least 3 rumbles with lighting. The attached image was taken the day before when we only had a few inches - it's to get you all in the mood for the coming winter.
  4. Temp 12.5 degC, humidity 98%, damp & grey, light S wind, sun trying to break through at times. pressure 1012mb & rising slowly. Hoping for some sunshine later this afternoon - plan on heading off to photo deer rutting and want the light.
  5. One of those days where it never really gets light up here. Grey, overcast, damp with rain showers and some mist. Not a trace of the sun. Wind has picking up for the last couple of hours - from the SE. Temp 14 degC, pressure 1006mb and currently steady after falling. 98% humidity.
  6. My choices are: Neilb 1 Sin 1 John Cox 1 Cloudburst 3 Brian McGrath 1 Well done everyone!
  7. Essan got my vote, however all the images seem to have vanished.
  8. Here are my choices - it was a hard one! Anvil Crawler 1 Louby 1 Mr Data 1 Ozzy 3 Simon1 1 Good luck to everyone...
  9. Thanks Lou - hadn't noticed the thread was unlocked again. Thanks for the votes everyone and good luck to all the March entries - some excellent stuff on that thread.
  10. Here's my third entry - footprints and shadows in the snow. I find it interesting that the trees shadows go in different directions. Reminds me of the moon landing photos they use to try and prove they were taken in a studio and not actually on the moon.
  11. I should have posted my vote I suppose - I love the serenity of Vikings photo - perfect composition!
  12. Here's my second entry - from the big snow fall earlier in the month.
  13. Multi Cellular Thunderstorm 2 Magpie 2 Louby 3 Cloudburst 3 Anvil Crawler 1 Well done everyone - it's hard to select favourites but it had to be done!
  14. My first entry - a Great Tit paying a visit during the snowy spell.
  15. Couple of bird shots as my entry. Snowbird was taken today during some heavy snow. Nutbird was taken during a frosty period earlier in the month.
  16. Snow showers off and on here since yesterday early evening. Not a huge amount on the ground - about 6-8mm (altho' some has melted), more where it has drifted. As I am right in the city center, I have no doubt there is more a few miles out.
