Nothing all night here. Been in the gap....however those larger slower moving showers have been slowly sinking south over Northumberland.....Will they continue?

Looks like I am about to taking a direct hit by that decent intensity shower. Blowing around. Intensity 8/10. Probably as heavy as there's been so far..

Think us in the mid belt just got unlucky. Borders and N. Northumberland alway seem to do well though. Must be something in it. The luck might change, but synoptically, tomorrow night looks better when the winds shifts to NE

It came further north, then slipped away easy dragging a NE'ly on us. Slacker winds. Remember the showers off that period where very heavy with huge flakes putting down 2" each if you got a direct hit.

This will be why... An LP crept up from the south. By the end of that day there was 50cm in SE. 46cm longframlington and widely 30cm plus along the east coast.

Showers are just too scattered. I remember about this time of the 1991 blast showers frequency just kept increasing on a day similar to today. 5" before bed. I remember looking out and shower after shower was piling in no respite. Whiteouts. Woke up with 12" on the grass. Must have been a proper streamer. No such luck this time

Means less penetration inland and more for eastern areas.....

Some nice ones heading our way. Nothing compared to the ones in the borders though. Hope those come south. They are monsters

Getting hit by this right now. Its snow. Decent flakes considering the wind. Intensity 6/10 Temp -0.3c Showers are aligning more ENE. Better

Radar not reliable.... Look at the 4 pics... taken every 2 frames. Pic 1 shows 2 showers, one larger. As you look through pics 2,3,4 the larger shower shrinks and all but gone as it hits the coast and the smaller one intensifies.... this is what we are dealing with....

I was under a red burst earlier, but still rated it as 8/10 for intensity. One of my pet hates... people overusing "heavy snow" when its just a moderate shower.

Showers right down the east of UK looking impressive. Tyneside area +/- 25 miles has not been a a streamer as yet... Hopefully our turn will come. Unless you are under one you are never going to get any depth as they blow over so fast. However....some big showers building now and heading my way....
