Slow thaw here today, tomorrow morning will certainly be fun with temps dropping to around about -2 it's going to be dreadfully icy out there with all the water.
I was just looking at the meto radar and it's doing something I've not seen before over Ireland - if you look at 17:00, 17:30 and then 18:00 over the Southern half of Ireland hopefully you'll see what I mean!
-
Light flurries by Mcr Airport.
-
Snow's starting to become patchy on the paths and grass now; we originally had an inch and a half and you can now see the grass underneath the snow, and there is a definite melt on the pavement.
Temp +2
DP -2

Popped out to the shop at around 7pm and it was -8 here. Going to be another bone-chillingly cold one here again tonight.
-
-5 and dropping. Not got above -2 here today. Apparently there's something brewing just north of where my parents are by Mcr Airport, I can just about see it behind the black 'Manchester' dot on the met radar!
-
-2c here, no sign of any snow melt
-
Some quite astonishing weather at the moment really. It really is bone chillingly cold out there this morning, just switched the car on to make sure it'd start okay and the guage was reading -12.
Wrap up warm if you're off out, and don't forget your neighbours
-
Morning all, good grief it's cold out there this morning. Just caught BBC weather and Carol Kirkwood confirmed it was a polar low, and also said that Woodford got down to -18c last night, although I can't see it listed in the obs.
I don't have any way of finding out what the temp is here, apart from the car, but we take our readings from Mcr Airport. All I know is that it's blimmin cold
-
-15ºC now!
Holy moly... my mums just text to say she's leaving the heating on tonight for the first time ever (lives not far from Woodford)
-
Flip, -9 here at the minute, dp -9.
-
Gorgeous pictures, and what a beautiful place to live... you are very lucky.
-
Oh no V, you're not boring us at all. Stunning pictures, beautiful to look at and thank you for posting them
-
-1 here and no snow melt even with the sun which is nice to see. Just had a really really light flurry, clouding over slightly now. All in all a beautiful deep winters day
-
Morning all Winter wonderland out there this morning. We ended up with an inch and a half in the end, so didn't do too badly. My snow-dance worked it seems
-
Still snowing lightly and up to an inch and a half covering of the nice crunchy stuff. I had to step outside just to hear the crunch, lol! So after a very late start I'm pleased we've finally joined in the fun
-
Still snowing lightly here, about an inch on the ground, maybe a fraction more.
-
Well well, for all my moaning earlier, got a good few cm of snow here tonight to keep me company
Aaron
Hehe same here! We've got an inch so far but judging by 'raintoday' it looks like the south mcr feed we were getting is nearing an end. The little ones will be very happy in the morning now
-
Up to 2cms now...
-
Snowing faily moderately now, we have just over a cm covering.
-
We have a covering here now, about 1cm, maybe a little less. The interesting thing is looking at www.raintoday.co.uk - although what's falling isn't heavy, not even moderate, it's a finger of cloud stretching across and being fed by South Manchester, and it's not really sinking Southwards.. or not yet anyway (we're smack in the middle of the dot for Liverpool and the dot for Stoke!). So we may get a couple of centimetres if it manages to stay where it is.
-
Yes that's the trouble, it's over us now, but there's nothing in it.
-
Well we finally had a graupel shower at around half four this afternoon, left a light covering. Can't help but feel really frustrated that it just stayed that fraction too far north, and it was only a fraction. Doesn't help that my parents have been sending me pictures of their 8ft Manchester snowmen!
Oh well, better luck next time. :o Enjoy the snow guys :o
-
Chuffed for all who have had a proper pasting today.
Not seen anything but a bit of snizzle.
Seems the front is spinning slightly westwards to avoid South Cheshire.
Lol completely understand where you're coming from! It's tried here a couple of times but it's been literally half a dozen grains blowing in the wind. Oh well, maybe next time Its days like today I wish I was still living at home, and I wish they'd stop texting me pictures!!

Just had to pop in and say ARRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH werja;sdkflajewriubwehbfckushdbf.
And breathe...... that's better! Slight dusting this morning, now melted, while my parents by Mcr Airport keep sending me pictures of their snowfall!!!!! Watching the radar and everything is moving, apart from the big blob that's stuck to the north of us and won't come down, it's moving either side but it won't move over us!! It's not even funny!
Anyway, rant over, just needed to release some steam Best get back to some work!
Good luck everyone
