Congratulations Jane....you're out of the NSC early this time. Hope you'll be willing those of us still in there an early release.
Thank you Carl  I'm sure I just heard thunder again just now! but it could be the farmers in the fields shooting lol radar still looks good. Oh I hope to see everybody out of my club before the end of year If I can get one then I'm sure everyone else can It's such a rarity for me lol

Yes just seen his status lol Thought I was the only one left in the NSC but I know for definite I'm going to be out of there before the end of the year.Watch this space

Unbelievable what happened last night for only March! From around midnight, lightning started to kick off to our South and SE, wasnt moving our way but moved close enough for us to hear the thunder, classic deep basey elevated distant thunder that makes everything shake.
It had dropped for a bit, so me, my girlfriend and my mate headed back home, but the moment we left we had a shaky deep boom go off, and we were all like realllyy just as we leave haha.
Got home, and noticed the sky lighting up, my mate phoned up saying it was all kicking off again aswell, instead of going out, we both ended up watching it from our houses, as we could both see it really easy. Couldnt believe how much lightning there was it was ranging anywhere between 2-20 seconds for hakf an hour, and was close enough to hear some proper rumbles and crackles of thunder, though was that loud by our area, but it clipped Southern IOW, so we can count it as our storm . It honestly felt like a summer lightning display, was great!
It's alright for some I suppose Lol. You always seem to do well where you are! It's still murky cold and grey here.I wont keep my fingers crossed today for anything to happen here then that way something may actually happen.. Well done though SK, glad you enjoyed them

no Jane had no storm up this year so far last 1 was the 6th of dec last year and that 1 woke me up early in the morning
Oh well, best of luck for the rest of the year Stu. Times are a changing and we are all going to get storms this year. Seriously though this really could be a good year I so know it is Lovely convection here today .It looked like a summer storm day but I only ended up with drizzle.
-
good luck Jane
Aww thanks Stu! but you know how it goes Have you had any storms up your way this year? or am I going to see you back in the NSC Lol
-
According to the weather app on my phone, there is a thunderstorm over Manchester right now. I have heard even any distant thunder yet.
Good luck... if you do get anything please send it this way.
-
Norfolk clipper.....will it won't it...
Fingers crossed

It looks to be surviving the North Sea but I think Gloucestershire is pushing it a bit Maybe worth keeping a watch if you live on the coast of EA.
The storm season has kicked off early this year. I have already seen a storm on January 25th but since then nothing here, although other parts have had a fair few. I am hoping the warm winter and resultant warmer SST's will help to make April/May more active than last years abysmal spring for storms. Although to be fair July onwards made up for that.
Lol wishful thinking on my part in hope that it may just may edge it's way over to Glos (knowing damn well it wont because storms never come here lol )Plenty to look forward to for the up and coming storm season and yes, seems to have started early . The heavy showers are now passing through North Lincs and Yorkshire..Good luck to anybody who's up there and of course yourself Supacell

Check out the storm on the coast of Holland!
I've been watching that one on Blitz.Just hoping it may come my way Lol. The MetO has forecast thunder for the SW maybe over night and tomorrow! but it'll probably end up in the far SW knowing my luck lol. Great to hear some are getting storms though.

Three hail downpours through this morning.Convection is building once again now the sun is out. If this carries on through the day I hopefully may get some T&L .
-
Certainly looks like some potential for tomorrow! I have my fingers crossed. 2014 might be a good year for storms especially for us storm-starved lot. I just hope I haven't jinxed it again lol

Signs of spring here. House sparrows building a nest today in one of my 5 camera nest boxes. A tree sparrow visit in the box on the Oak tree. Blue tits investigating all 5. Seen a Bee yesterday. Building a bug hotel this afternoon and setting up a webcam on the wildlife pond.
-
Certainly going to be an interesting day Keep safe all and take care if taking pics and videos. I think the far SW will probably fare better then the rest of us for a thunderstorm but who knows .

Lower energies rather then higher energies could cause this so they say. I was a little scared of all the hysteria of when the LHC started up. What with the scare mongers saying that it would create a black hole etc. but I then lightened up to it. Now this has started to become public and now I'm beginning to wonder again. Why do you feel there is no chance AJ?
-
With the LHC starting up again at full power in 2015. This article appeared in one of my news feeds.
Thought I'd share with those of you who are interested and would love to hear your views.I am not responsible for any scaremongering as this is being posted everywhere but after all the interest with the LHC thought it would be a good subject to disscuss!
