The amount of snow they are getting in the East lately is taking the Pee!! Just very light snow falling here now in E Dorset but looking at the radar there a few more heavier bursts approaching. Fingers crossed. Just read that southampton airport has closed due to snow!, how close to Dorset can it be this snow! and we still dont get any! - im starting to wonder if Dorset has turned into an island and split from mainland UK and drifted into warmer seas!!

Im in Colehill near Wimborne. Thats strange! the rain turned to snow about 15mins ago and has been light/moderately snowing steadily since!

wow just looked out of the window here in east dorset and its snowing moderately with proper flakes! at last!

after about 10" of RAIN it is starting to turn to snow now but why does this have to happen when to main band of precip has passed over lol. I might just move out of Dorset oneday to snowier places! Theres still afair bit of precip heading for us in the channel so its not all over yet!

Oh right, we woke up to a covering of snow this morning in Colehill/Wimborne. Hope this rain turns to snow this afternoon/evening though! however, being Dorset it will most probs just stay as rain!

Currently 0c in East Dorset but its more rain than sleet at the moment!! To the south, everything is slowly dissapearing in what looks like a thick white mist. Its moving closer, not sure what this is.

I love it how Dorset is about the only county in the UK to not be mentioned or have a heavy snow warning from this whole cold spell. Ok we have woke up to a dusting this morning but i mean proper snowfall!, the clouds do look very snowy from the south i must admit!

We've had one 10min snow shower from this whole cold spell in East Dorset! We've only ever had rain from it while everywhere else gets snow! - Dissapointed!, lets hope we some flakes tonight/tomorrow!. My neighbour is having to return home after most flights to Germany have been cancelled until Tuesday from Southampton due to so much snow in Germany!

Its overcast, its below freezing, it might aswell just snow whilst the clouds here lol <_<

True, it is only just the beggining of winter at the end of the day! Still got the rest of the month, January and Feb yet, and if we're to get any its usually in feb. We've had a snow shower here now so its all good, im happy!

Looks like my moaning paid off Just had a nice moderate snow shower here in East Dorset with a light dusting! - Might have to moan more often. Chapmanslade!!, It wasnt hopecasting, a few websites including this website forecast snow for east dorset for the last few days!! and im not blind, i know what i saw!!! which goes to prove that some sites forecasts are really not reliable!! especially when they say 92% chance! At least i now have learnt what forecasts not to use!

What a JOKE! - Im extremely dissapointed to wake up to clearskies and bone dry ground! - I have lost all hope in a any snow what so ever this side of winter until febuary time. Cant beleive that. What is going on with all the forecasts!! all saying snow for us or sleet at least, for every day this week but we've not seen a dicky bird! - Lesson learnt, not to take a blind bit of notice when i see snow forecast for east dorset . Clear skies here now. Wheres all this snow or snow showers both online and TV forecasts say we are suposed to get for most of the day today when its clear skies and no precip anywhere near us on the radar! Ive had enough of all that "tomorrow" business now - It never happens "Tomorrow" lol. Forecasting has really gone downhill since last winter especially on the TV Thats my rant over with!

COME ON! We just need that band of heavy precip in the east to continue heading in a east direction!! Starting to get some cloud rolling in here now.

Hi Mark funny you should mention that, i noticed my lights flickered a few times earlier and im in East Dorset. Not sure why this is or if it signals anything!

Brrrrr im hating the waiting game! but then good things come to those who wait!! - especially knowing London etc is getting or going to get a battering of very heavy snow doesnt help!! - Got family in Kent, lucky them!! Wind still picking up! still got my fingers crossed! - heres hoping! Peoples locations are back - First to notice

MetO just updated to a Red Warning for VERY heavy snow in Kent and couple of other areas! - If only that was Dorset!!

Wind Picking up here now in East Dorset. That precip heading into the channel, what a waste lol! im sure the sea isnt bothered about being snowed on!

Just read in another thread that apprently its thundersnow in London at the moment. I cant bare to read the East and South East thread lol it will get me jealous! Metchecks latest warning updated at 21.00 hours tonight included: Heavy snow and strong winds are expected across East Anglia, central, southern and southeast England with local blizzards, significant accumulations and drifting of the snow expected. In addition, hail and thunder can be expected close to eastern coasts. Ian (East Dorset)

I think that the IOW and above has recently been upgraded from yellow to a orange warning this evening?? Ive got a good feeling about this one for East Dorset. Fingers Crossed!

For a laugh im going to predict that it does move further west and hit Dorset a treat!! - I can just smell it in the air - Lots of radar watching. I feel we've more of a chance tonight than any previous nights we've been expecting it!

Excellent, we're right on the sleet/rain border again like the last 2 nights in Dorset ! Ive got a feeling we might get a decent amount in East Dorset tonight. Can smell it in the air! - Fingers Crossed
