  1. Just had an epic drive from Worcester to Droitwich! Just drizzle in S Worcester but heading north I hit it. Massive flakes sticking to the soaked roads and bad visibility. Luckily I was the only one on the roads which haven't been gritted. Still coming down nicely but its amazing that only 7 miles south there is nothing..
  2. Just drizzle in Worcester but had a weird graupel or hail blitz for about ten minutes that's left an icy covering but now back to rain
  3. You lot made me start lamppost obs again! Anyway its very windy and raining here not sleet or hail just rain. Wasn't expecting anything to be honest but good luck all lets see if the Midlands can join in the fun with the NW!
  4. Bit bloomin' windy here - sounds like a jet plane taking off! O_o
  5. After tiny flakes about an hour ago that stopped after 10 mins I can report snow here! You can tell its wetter than Fridays event as you can hear it when it lands. Snowing at Vile park too on tv. Ugh Come on you Bantams! KRO
  6. Forum member AWD has put a nice explanation over in The South West regional forum now explaining how the low will pivot and draw in colder air from the east allowing lower temps and DPs thus increasing the chances of snow for us and it explains how marginal it is for those in Somerset Avon etc as the ppn is arriving before the undercut happens. Have a look!
  7. 00Z NAE looks good for us and Carol has just shown the nice white snow blobs on the forecast graphics from around 11pm tonight until 3am Weds morning - she reckons 3-6cm! Lets hope she will be right...
  8. Snizzle in Brum city centre at the moment nothing on the radar though...
  9. After snizzle all day here it's still coming down but now the sun has set its starting to settle on roads and cars
  10. Scratch my "should be here by lunchtime" comment - it's here already! Small flakes but good to see! Radar looking interesting too!
  11. Nothing falling here yet but if the system moves as forecast we may get a dusting around lunchtime. Bitter out in the wind though brrrr!
  12. I must be under one of those more intense radar pulses as its hoofing it down now with bigger flakes at a good rate!
  13. Just been on my own arctic expedition to the local Tesco. Really great! Snow still coming down and main roads covered. Saw a few abandoned cars and some struggling up a slight incline near the shops. It's amazing how dodgy the roads can get if you don't drive a 4x4! Luckily I was you yomping through the 6 inches on foot so I loved it
  14. Must be going through a heavier burst here now as its hammering it down!
  15. Bigger flakes here now as the ppn has pepped up a fair bit - really helping the accumulation total. More please )
  16. Morning all! Well I don't think it actually stopped snowing here since that light snow began falling late yesterday afternoon! I reckon we moved from that straight into the light snow ahead of the band and now the main band itself. Currently I can report moderate snow - not big flakes 5p size but its pepped up as the main band has started to hit. Have about 2 cm accumulated but due to the wind certain areas are not covered at all which makes it look less than there is because the areas exposed to the SE wind like the main road are getting nicely covered. Per the MetO site the more intense snow is due around 10am-12pm so I expect the accumulation to get a good boost when it arrives!
  17. Still snowing here - I'm surprised how long its gone on for to be honest! Currently have about 1cm but certain areas of the patio are just wet probably due to the temp not being quite low enough. Just checked the latest radar - the main band has certainly grown wider...
  18. Still falling here a light dusting which should provide a nice base layer when the main event comes!
  19. The latest NAE looks pretty good IMBY (Worcs) and generally good for the majoirty of the W Mids I'd say! Keep the faith...
  20. Back home after work and it was chucking it down with rain. Now stopped. Temp 1.5 and all this mornings snow has been washed away. Typical but exactly as forecast by the MetO and BBC.
  21. Sleet turned to snow in Brum city centre and it's been heavy wet snow for the last 30 minutes. It's not settling but it's nice to see after the rain earlier! Presumably it turned to snow as the heavier precip arrived over Brum as shown on the radar. Those further east in tr regionshould do very well out of this band!
  22. I can confirm its raining in Droitwich, Worcs now On way to Brum so I'll report from the city centre later...
