  1. Just woken up to a surprising 4 cm blanket of snow! It's very wet stuff the kind that sticks to everything but it's nice to see! Seems the Cheshire Gap Streamer did ok for Droitwich but I'm not looking forward to the rain coming in today if indeed it is rain as forecast. I hope not.
  2. I can report very light snow falling in Worcester...
  3. Now intense hail in Brum city centre! Turning white with pea size hail!!! Wow massive lightning and thunder again as I type!
  4. Rumble of thunder in Brum city centre! Looking very dark and grey in NE direction...
  5. I'll have the same as before please Blizzards -when you've finished with it of course I'm grateful for that hefty shower earlier it has given a covering albeit a wet snow one at least I got to see something other than the awful drizzle from earlier tonight. On a separate note nice to see NW big guns Kold and TEITS posting in our corner of the forum - very insightful they have been too!
  6. OMG Huge flakes here in Droitwich - I'd given this up but in last 40 mins it's hoofing it down I know it won't last but everything white over despite the earlier rain
  7. Home now from snowy Brum to awful drizzle - temp holding at 0 but not wintry at all just rain
  8. Definite snow in Brum city centre just walked in it on way to catch my train at New Street! Flakes falling on to wet ground but still actual snow rather than pellets. Just got to see what its like when I get home now...
  9. Well I should be in the "target zone" but nowcasting is best as its still undecided exactly what and where. Needless to say I will report on conditions tomorrow! Good luck Midlanders!
  10. After period of icy rain and it looking like it was all over we have proper snow again here! ) Nothing heavy but steadily falling and great to see after it went a bit marginal an hour ago!
  11. I've relocated to Worcester and it's still coming down well here! Estimate about 2-3cm lying and pepping up a bit too
  12. Just seen my first flakes! So few I counted them but still - more to come soon... Temp currently -1.5
  13. Don't forget to mention your wet bulb Meanwhile still no sign of snow from that rogue shower dusting Hereford...
  14. Excellent! According to the radar that rogue shower is coming my way so hopefully I will see my first snowflakes since Dec 2010 Eyes down look in people!
  15. A damp squib here too with the emphasis on damp. Made obs at 4:50 to see just wet ground. Popped out at 7am and its not even raining just wet ground with temp of 1 degree. Reminds me of the Xmas 2009 let down where it just rained and we all bemoaned the waste of ppn! Looks like some have done ok further south e.g. Gloucs so fair play to them.
  16. Still moderate rain here no sign of sleet. Hopefully the magic will happen in the early hours! Off to bed now, enjoy those pulling an all-nighter lamppost/radar watching and good luck all!
  17. Light rain here 7 miles N of Worcester. Its heavier than drizzle but not sleet yet! Strange but no wind at all...
  18. Hmmm it's stopped now I don't get it?! It's like it's stalling right on my doorstep bizarre. Maybe it needs a kick up rear from the more intense bands behind? Well I'm off to bed this front is like a watched kettle... Good luck all let's hope it gets a move on!
  19. Finally lamp post watch has paid off - it's arrived! Light flakes a blowin' in the wind
  20. You're not wrong it is so close if not here now per the radar but it's doing nothing outside!
  21. nice one CG! Radar and Lamppost watch in progress here...
  22. Droitwich here CG! Bet the hills will be busy tomorrow! Lamppost watch confirms increasing snow rate, swirling about a bit now too
  23. Snow fall has pepped up significantly here in Worcs - not so much bigger flakes but more of them and falling faster too! Judging by the radars there some more intense falls on the way...
  24. Snow starting to fall again here in Worcs after a brief lull. I'm wondering whether this is the leading part of the pivot? Radar hints that it is...?
  25. Judging by the raintoday radar it looks to me that anywhere in that line between Brum and Gloucs could see something from the SE band. Obviously very simplistic but the way it is arcing just looks like it ain't over yet! Thundersnow reported in Hampshire btw!
