  1. The streamer has finally given up the ghost after about 5 hours of snow/graupel
  2. It does look like that but it's just started to get heavier again here - unreal!
  3. It's an amazing event to experience - I reckon about an inch of snow so far after 4 hours of snowfall!
  4. No sign Watcher - I keep thinking it's going to drop South but it keeps moving back up towards Bangor - feels like we hit the jackpot on this one!
  5. Yes I'm in Bangor and the snow is still coming down thick and fast - I'd guess about 2cm depth so far covering all surfaces
  6. Some massive snowflakes falling here just at the moment - roughly 50p size or bigger
  7. Persistent graupel and snow here at the moment with a covering on the grass, cars and rooves. These unexpected snowfalls are always the best!
  8. Looks like a proper streamer developing now - it would be great if stays on that track - somewhere near here could get a lot of graupel/snow out of that!
  9. Just spotted that Watcher - seems to have appeared from nowhere! We have had wee sprinkles of graupel here all day - I guess it'll be more of that but I'd take thundersnow
  10. Hey Johnny - I'm in Bangor - Donaghadee Road direction - close to the Centra at Windmill Road! I have just checked outside and the snow is just starting to settle now
  11. Fascinating drive home to Bangor from Belfast there - the road down was like a Winter Wonderland with a blizzard thrown in - snow blowing about all over the place, but as I arrived in Bangor, the snow cover got less and less until I got home and there is none here at all! Hopefully there will be some settling now it's dark and it looks like a heavier burst is about to hit us on the coast
  12. yup starting to settle now in our car park on the Hollywood Road in Belfast - might have to leave work before it gets any worse!
  13. Having driven into work from Bangor to Belfast, it was mostly rain in Bangor but full on sleety snow around Cultra, then back to rainy sleet in Belfast, so it's getting closer!
  14. Thanks Steve - likewise - great to have your input here! I live in Bangor - on the coast in County Down so hopefully we are in that sweet spot even though we are a coastal location!
  15. Warning now upgraded to amber folks: Rain will turn increasingly to sleet and then snow at all levels across Northern Ireland during the course of Friday afternoon and evening, with some places receiving accumulations of 5-10 cm of snow overnight into Saturday and as much as 15-20 cm above 200 metres, with drifting in the strengthening east to northeasterly winds. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ni/ni_forecast_warnings.html
